It was David Michael at Freehold, New Jersey. Also, DCH Academy Honda quoted me $27,498.00. I'm holding out for the new incentives for July. I will be purchasing on consumerreport.org a dealer pricing which will give me the dealer's cost for the car and work my way up from that price. This will include the holdbacks and any other deals they get from the manufacturer.

I'd have to agree with dpres... you are getting schnookered. The dealers put on this front to make you think you are getting a fantastic deal... but in reality you are not. The "extra's" are a farce and so not worth it! I don't know why they think they can charge 100 bucks to "install" floor mats! I'd aim for 28500 - 29000.

I think the new incentives are out as of July 6. I was at a dealer late tonight and they said they are better than the incentives that expired on July 5.
Thanks to the help on this forum I got an EX-L AWD in Maryland near DC for $27149 + $595 destination and $100 processing plus TTL. That's with only two days of e-mails and internet shopping.
Thanks, everyone!

Billy, congrats on your purchase... I am interested to see what incentives are going to be offered. I had another follow up call yesterday from a dealership still trying to get me to buy at over 30K. I had to once again gently remind the salesperson that I do believe in the laws of supply and demand... they've got alot of supply...and they are not moving. I'm a patient person. By the end of this month, I have a feeling that alot of them will be scrambling as I see the 08's are showing up on the dealerships websites.

Billy, what dealership in MD offered you that price? I'm just starting to search the MD area for a similar car.
Thanks

The best price offer came from Landmark in Alexandria. Ourisman in Bethesda and College Park Honda agreed to match it. A couple of others said it's an impossible price. Ourisman in Bethesda is the closest dealer so we went with them. They are very good folks there, but like almost every dealer they do try to sell the undercoating, extended warranty, etc... it is their business but you just have to do what Nancy Reagan says: "Just say no." If for some reason you want the extras from the dealer be sure to specify them when getting bids.
They wanted to see my best price offer from the other dealer, so be prepared to bring a copy with you.
When getting bids make it clear that you won't pay for dealer-installed accessories. Good luck!
Billy
P.S. I also looked into a pre-negotiated price deal through USAA. It came in at $30,295 from a dealer 40 miles from my house. Some "deal."
