Replying to: nefarious (Mar 26, 2007 11:41 am) I asked for the quote last week and no one else would match it. Some dealers were actually nasty in their response that it was too low. I had a choice of colors and could have ordered a different color if I wanted. They did not try to push accessories. They asked if I wanted any, I said no and that was the end of the discussion. When I went in on Saturday, they were very busy and they gave me the all weather mats to make up for a long wait to sit down down to sign the papers. I had asked for the quote in e-mail for the EXL AWD. The response came back stating it was special internet pricing, valid for 1 week and it listed all of the following models: EXL 2WD $26862 LX 4WD $23772 EX 4WD $25963 EXL 4WD $28030 Mary |

Replying to: jfritsch (Mar 25, 2007 3:17 pm) Now for another question: How many miles are acceptable on a new car? The dealer says there are hardly any miles on it because they got it in less than a week ago. What is "hardly any miles"? Read my messages 8578 8626 and go from there. The Pilot wholesales 10k off list 1st year, so you want about 5-6k off. Leave a message with your low bidder sales manager and tell him have better offers but want to get his best price. You need his best shot on the $5300 off car. Whatever it is you are dissappointed. Tell him to call you back if the scenery changes. Contemplate it. You have the advantage in this case that you know a good deal is about 6200 off. In general you have to solicit at least 10-20 bids toward the end of the month, usually by email. Only 1 out of 8-12 dealers will be behind on his sales targets for the month. You have to find him. (if he's there) This will generate 1-4 eager beavers who really want or need your deal for you to work. Otherwise they work you. Good Luck --jjf

Replying to: gordonfreeman (Mar 27, 2007 11:45 am) In other words "What can I do to get you to sell me this car today?" I've seen cars sold new with 500 miles, but they were transferred. I would prefer under 200. Good Luck --jjf Well, I have a new offer of $27,996+TTL and am trying to get other dealers to match or beat it. Otherwise, I think this is a pretty good deal. $5,844 off MSRP, thanks to this forum. Now for another question: How many miles are acceptable on a new car? Replying to: jfritsch (Mar 27, 2007 7:35 pm) Please tell me you are going to work him a bit over the phone, how your wife is preferring several other vehicles and how you've got a better offer but have to drive to get it. Are you sure this is your best shot? In other words "What can I do to get you to sell me this car today?" I've seen cars sold new with 500 miles, but they were transferred. I would prefer under 200. | My dealer has banners showing they have the "Presidential Award"? Where does this come from? How do I contact them? | |
If anyone is looking for this car (Pilot, 2007, EX-L 2WD) then your bottom-line price at Honda Oakland (CA) will be 28773$ (OTD) (some accessories included). I already purchased this car at other dealer for the same price and Honda Oakland (CA) was ready to match this. (was not ready to go down.) So if you do proper negociation you can get it for 28773$ (OTD) before this month end. South-Bay Honda at Las-Gatos is stuck at 29000$ OTD for this car. Try to negociate and get it for less before this month end. Hope this will help to someone who is looking for this car in Bay area.
