Honda 2007 price increase and incentives? by davescharf

I've been obtaining quotes in the Twin Cities area and many of them are similar to what I've read on the past few pages when you include the destination charge (MSRP on a EX-L w/Nav is actually $36040 if you add that). With destination charges my quotes have been right at or just about $32k which is significantly lower than Edmund's TMV.

All of my quotes are good until the end of December and one of the dealers suggested the Pilot would have a price increase on Jan 1st. I was wondering if anyone knew about that or if there was news about the size of the increase, etc.

I was also wondering more generally if there's anytime early in 2007 when Honda would be offer incentives on the Pilot. Given that it's a popular car I wasn't sure if that was the case, but do they generally offer incentives early in 2007 to start moving the new cars?

The problem is that a dealer cannot give you a "set" amount for a trade without ever looking at it. that is not fair of you to ask a dealer to do that. Would you give a "set" price if you were buying a used car form someone without ever seeing their car????

I doubt you would. Anyway the best you can ask for is a range of prices they will give you. But you must be honest with them about the condition of your car. If you show up and your car is not exactly what you said it is there will be issues.

good luck to you,.

and no there are no incentives on the 07 Pilots

Out of curiousity did you tell the dealer your trade was about to blow a headgasket?

Thanks. I intend to be forthcoming w/ info by taking detailed digital photos and documenting condition of vehicle and providing info via e-mail. To your point, not fair to expect a blind estimate however I do think it's fair to ask given the level of detail I intend to provide.

Also when is next round of Honda financing (purchase, not lease) due to be released?

I did not present "my opinions" regarding the status of any component of the vehicle. They performed a complete and thorough inspection (test drive, checked all accessories, etc) and provided me their evaluation along with their offer.

I would not expect any dealer to stand by any offer prior to them physically inspecting the car. Would you buy a used car without inspecting it first?

Thanks to info. from this forum, I was able to purchase a 2007 Pilot EX-L AWD with Navigation (Silver) for $31,000 this week in Westchester County, New York. That's ~$1,500 below invoice.

MSRP (including destination) -- $36,040
Invoice (including destination) -- $32,507
Price Paid (before TT&L) -- $31,000
Out-the-door price (includes $10 inspection fee, $12.50 tire fee, $2286.25 NY sales tax, $189.50 license/title (estimated), and $45 documentation fee) -- $33,543.25

Best price other dealers I called (I spoke with Internet sales managers at 5-6 dealers) in Westchester and metro NYC area were offering was $500 under invoice ($32,000). Purchased from New Rochelle Honda.
