The dealer told me that this is a price premium and not an acquisition fee per se. The amt is $800 and the payment is only about $30 per month more...

For leasing, I already thought that one would negotiate the best price as if one were to purchase the car and then work out the structure for the leasing.

I wonder others who have leased a Pilot or other Honda models had a similar experience.

Now that the month is over, I'm sure prices will creep back up for a couple of weeks at least.

We picked up our '07 Pilot EX-L 2WD w/ NAV on Wednesday night. Negotiated a final out-the-door price of $32,500 which set the actual selling price (before TT&L) at $30,335. This vehicle included the pro package in the price plus a couple of goodies (mud guards, cargo net, wheel locks).

They offered 4.9% APR for 60 months but since we had competitive financing in hand we turned it down.

Never heard of a "premium" on a lease deal.. I would check out other dealers in the area if I were you.

What kind of competitive financing did you get and from whom?

That would make the price of the Pilot + accessories $29,950 or so. Considering the invoice of the AWD Pilot EX-L ($30,530) + the accessories (about $1200) and you're looking at a pretty good deal, I think.

We financed through USAA for 5.99%. I don't see the 1% APR differential between the deals worth going with Honda. I finance my Accord through Honda now, and they've been very pleasant to deal with, but it was easier to cut them a check via USAA than go through the hassle of the finance office.

Mine is 2WD not AWD. Invoice on a 2WD 07 EXL is 28,766.86 (non including the dest charge). I am looking at 28361 (including dest) + around 1700 in accessories.

Advertised Prices by joesacramento

Here are some more prices that are advertised in today's Sacramento Bee. These are advertised prices. Internet quotes have already been lower.

LX 4WD - $26,488 Elk Grove Honda

LX 4WD - $26,495 Auburn Honda

Both are offering 3.9% financing 36 month

Autowest Honda Roseville is offering .9% financing 36 month, no prices advertised. Their internet folks will beat any local written quotes as they did for me. You can also review their inventory online.
