The 28631 is for a 07 EX-L 2WD without Nav. thats the best I have seen. I havent read/heard anybody getting anything better yet except one of them from Dallas.

Funny you should mention that dealership because I spent hours dealing with them on the internet and we finalized a price. I went in to confirm in person and they said it was a go and could have the car in within an hour. I came back 3 hours later and they conveniently made a $1000 mistake on the price. Everything guaranteed via email was worthless and they completely baited me in and 5 minutes before I handed them the check, they raised the price and wouldn't negotiate at all. It was your typical scummy sales job by this dealership and will never recommend or buy from them!

The acquisition fee is charged by the bank that leases you the car (Honda Finance, most likely). Their base fee is $595, I think.

It is basically a revenue bump for the bank.. the dealer doesn't get any of it. I think almost every single bank/finance company in the country charges it.

McDavid Irving quoted me $30,342 for a 2007 EX-L 2WD w/ NAV today. Did you find out if they would throw out that bogus charge for a protection package?

In my reply to McDavid this evening I asked if the quoted price (plus TT&L) was an out-the-door price or if they would try to hit me with hidden charges if I agreed to a test drive. I haven't heard back yet but I'm sure I will tomorrow.

Initial quotes so far in the DFW area for an EX-L 2WD w/ NAV:

McDavid Irving - $30,342
McDavid Frisco - $31,839
McKinney - $31,339
Frank Kent - $31,683

All quotes are good until the end of this month (Thursday 11/30).

$2,000 factory to dealer cash??

I would like to hear this from someone else out there.

My local Honda dealer said there was no cash after I specifically asked.

They were offering some decent interest rates starting
at 3.9%.

Does anyone actually pay for "protection" packages? My dealer wanted $895 for that garbage which amounted to about $50 worth of stuff from AutoZone.

3.9 interest rate is for 36 months only. For 60 months it is 4.9%.

Here are the response I got for EXL 2WD (no Nav no RES)
Frank Kent - $30,361 (32 something with accessories)
Freeman Honda - $29,211
vandergriff-honda - $29,861 plus accessories, + TT & fees.
McDavid Irving - $28,362 (incl destination)
Bankston - $28,361 (i believe incl dest)
Frisco - $29,261 (32k w/ accesories which are
                   ridiculously priced)

I am waiting for an update from some more from dallas/houston area.

BTW I am ok without the pro package so if they insist I will walk either way.

David McDavid of Irving will definitely give you the protection package for free, just tell them that you would like them to remove the items. If you take a hard line with them they will fold on that issue. They will probably come off the original offer as well, but you will have to negotiate hard.
