Folks, The deals on the 2006 models are insane. I just bought a silver EXL w/ NAV for 26,600. Note that this was a 2WD purchased in New England (we are driving it across the country and will live in CA -- so AWD doesn't matter). The 2WD has the engine management system to shut down the cylinders and cost about 1K less than 4WD. The best mileage I have gotten is 22.5 but the engine is still brand new and we are driving 75MPH. Best I can tell this was about 8K off of sticker and 700 under dealer cost after rebates and holdback. We love it and have been spending 8-12 hours a day in it with our two dogs as we drive across the country. We bought from Bernardi in Framingham MA. None of the other dealers had any NAV units left. We were prepared to spend up to 33K on a 2003 or newer MDX, but the used car manager was really honest and said that they would cut us a great deal on a Pilot and it was a newer design. I got quotes from all the dealers and haggled with them all. Best of luck to all you. This is a great vehicle. Dobe |

Folks, I should also add -- we paid an additional 5% sales tax and rejected all the extras. The extended warranty should not be needed on a Toyota or Honda. The finance guy seemed a little pissed off about this, but he'll get over it. We paid with a cashiers check. Dobe

Folks are buying 2WD Pilot EXL with Navi for 26,100 [inc. dest fee]. Someone posted a price of 2WD Pilot EXL for 24,600 [I bought mine 600 dollars higher]. Some of these prices are $4000 below invoice+dest. How is it possible? How do the dealers make money? Why would they give away $4000+destination fee? They need to make some money to run the business? Any idea? There must be other ways for the dealers to make money.

I talked to Frank Kent. They only had couple of 06 EX 4WD in stock. The quote they gave is $25200+TTL. I think it is pretty good price, but the color they have I really didn't like it. Huggins and Vandergriff are the other two who still have stock but their price is $2000 higher. Does anyone know other dealerships within couple hours driving from DFW still have 06 pilot (LX or EX model) available and have fair price?

Just got a 2006 4WD Pilot EXL RES for 28,300 (including dest) from Majestic Honda in RI. Was 3K off invoice. Didn't want the RES ( very few left around without, this dealer had none) but the price was right. FYI: The 2006 and 2007 seem to be identical, the 2007 glossy brochure has the exact photos as the 2006, the only difference I found was the color chart in the back. |
