Price Paid for 2006 Honda Pilot 2WD EX-L w/DVD (RES) by rsf

Just picked up a beautiful 2006 Pilot 2WD EX-L w/DVD (RES) Redrock Pearl with leather interior for $28,800 plus TTL and dealer fee of $599. I couldn't knock down the dealer fee, but was able to knock down the price significantly. I started negotiations at $29,000. Live in the Tampa, FL area for those who are wondering. Paid cash. Very happy with my experience!

Thanks artgpo, based on your post last night, I also got the same deal from the same dealership today for my son-in-la and daughter. In fact right now they are driving back in their new Black w tan leather AWD w Navi from the dealership. They just called me and thanked me,a dealer in Leesburg had pulled a bait and switch on them Friday and they walked away. So, thanks to you and Edmunds, they got what is a great deal.

Geekay,

You are most welcome. All this proves is that it can be very easy to work a good deal. My son-in-law was headed to that dealer in Leesburg when I was emailed Hersons' offer. He drove an extra few miles but saved $1,400.

RS,

No, Honda did not offer us any subsidized financing. The financing Honda offered was similar to bank rate financing (a bit under 6% APR).

drjlbphd,

Yes, the destination fee was factored in to my price. The dealer I purchased from was Clair Honda, West Roxbury, Mass. I should also note that Honda Cars of Boston also provided a very competitive quote, though they didn't have the car in my preferred color (while Clair did).

Atlanta area dealer......Trading in my Jeep and want a nice basic Honda Pilot. Leather would be nice but don't need a sunroof, more cupholders, etc.. Is the EX really worth the extra money ?

Is this a good deal ? How easy is it to negotiate the processing fee ?

You can own your new 2006 Honda Pilot LX 2WD for:

$22748.00 Internet Price
$ 550.00 Destination
$ 498.00 Processing Fee
$ 1665.80 Sales Tax at 7%
$ 19.00 Title

EX has many additional stuff you can refer to the honda list, few note worthy are, the sound system. EX has 6 speakers and a subwoofer. LX sound system has only 4 speakers and less power, sounds is not good in LX. The dash board on LX looks some what subpar. the cloth is different in LX and EX.

Rsf - I'm in Tampa looking for the exact same car (but different color) - what dealer did you get the car at? Can you also tell me the sales person's name?

I've already requested some internet quotes that of course are coming in much higher than what you paid.

What was your out-the-door price?

Looking to buy a 2WD-EX with DVD in Tampa by erical77

We want to buy a Pilot before 5/1/06 to take advantage of the Honda finance offers. I've gotten a few internet quotes, but I think they are pretty high.

What is the $1,000 incentive that everyone keeps mentioning? Is there also a kickback they are receiving?

What amount under invoice should I try to pay (obviously the most possible!) or should I begin negotiations with?

When I got my Accord in 2001, I paid about $500 under invoice and thought that was good, but it seems like today that might not be good enough. I guess I really need to watch out for all the dealer charges too, correct?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
