Replying to: sg101 (Aug 22, 2005 10:02 am) My first dealership quoted me $29,900. I then went to 3 other dealerships and had them going against each other. Finally got to the point where no one would budge on the price anymore. The end of the year, end of the month is the only time I will buy. It saves you thousands! Offer a rediculous price and they may just accept it. They're still making their money, don' think they're not. |

I asked for the $27,588 pricing on the EX-L, even had a newspaper add from a trip to Chicago, and the dealer in the Boise area (Nampa), said the best he could do is $29,588. He is acting like there is not even a $1000 marketing rebate. So now I'm looking in the surrounding area, eastern Oregon and Idaho. I'm sure eventually I'll get a dealer to sell at this price. The Boise area is usually stubborn, I've had to go to Portland before to get a resonable price on new vehicles. |

Finally bought our 2005 Pilot EX. Here's what we got: EX - $25,600 (included wheel locks & mud flaps - they were already installed on the car, and I told the dealer that I would not pay extra for them since I didn't want them) $45 doc fee $2,115 (taxes - LA county is 8.25% - they tax price of the car & doc fees) $230 title & registration (it's supposed to be 1%, but dealer cut this fee down) $8.75 tire fee OTD = $27,999 We qualified for the 4.9% for 60 months through American Honda Finance Corp. Just as a side note: Make sure you go to the dealer knowing all your numbers!!! Make the dealer tell you the break down of all of their fees including taxes & title/registration and Out The Door (OTD) final price. Also know how much you will be financing and your monthly payment. Their finance department tried to make us pay a 4.99% instead of 4.90% and they also tried to slip $395 in our contract for paint sealant. READ your numbers carefully - don't let them rush you!!!! Other than that, Honda Santa Ana did a good job to get our business. I will definitely buy all my cars through the internet!!! |
