$31,995 for an EX-L w/DVD sounds high by a couple of grand.

If you're in NW PA, it might be worth your while to try some of the competitive stores in NE Ohio. Folks have reported good prices at Jay Honda in Cleveland, College Hills Honda in Wooster, The Honda Store in Youngstown, Park Honda or Mike Pruitt Honda in Akron, and Classic Honda in Streetsboro, among others.

You might also check Honda's website and this weekend's major area dailies for lease info.

GTXCARL...

NO offence to NJ Pilot lovers.... (SMILE)
We had no grief with any of the dealers we contacted in either state. It just seemed more convenient to get tags, etc in state. I'm glad you got your Pilot. We absolutely are in love with ours... We had planned to "settle" for a Ford Explorer because of all the incentives Ford offered. We are so glad we found the Pilot.

roggie1, my story is the exact same as yours, except I paid $25,900 (including destination) + tax/fees in Elmhurst, IL. I am so happy with my black 2005 Honda Pilot EX!

WARNING - Bring a copy of the internet offer that the dealership e-mailed you. The guy at the place I went to wouldn't honor the offer until I produced a hardcopy of it.

Not sure about EX/EX-L but I bought LX last Sun, 7/31, $1,844 below invoice at Honda Santa Ana. They traded the silver LX from another dealer in OC. Price was $23,476 and $25,548 out the door with all fees/license/tax.

They were trying to sell 300 cars in July and very eager to give the best deal on 7/31. Internet sales was Ty but he is on vacation this week. I warned them up front about no BS charges and sure enough they didn't even try to push other charges on me or finance since I paid with cash.

Costco dealers in Orange County and Ontario were quoting only $500 below invoice. Weseloh (Costco dealer) and Power Costa Mesa both came to as low as $1,650 below invoice.

By the way, $1k rebate to dealer got extended to 9/6.

I went to Honda dealer in Bellevue off I90 last week for test drive. I was looking for LX and they had none. The asian sales guy was arrogant and didn't even give effort to sell me the car even though I went there with my family of 4 during weekday.

I'm in the process of relocating back to Orange County after stint at Microsoft so ended up getting nice deal from Honda Santa Ana.

So with the arrogance I experienced, try Costco dealers. Punch in zip code in Bellevue then Puyallup to get more Costco contacts.

Good Luck

I've seen a lot of postings about good prices in NJ. Does anyone know of any dealers that can compete with these prices on Long Island or in NYC? I live in Nassau County & I'm looking for the EX-L with RES.

Also; any opinions on whether to buy before or after Sept. 6th? Do you think Honda will extend dealer incentive or have better incentive/rebate after Sept. 6?

Tandy_13,
I had good buying experience at Academy Honda. The sales person is nice and reasonable. No hassle, that's very important.
I did not enquire about the EXL with Nav. Sorry can't help you at this point. I will recommend you to call them to quote the price before you drive there.
  Good luck.
