2009 Honda Pilot Touring w/NAV and RES Seattle by pabloa3

We shopped around the Seattle area...most dealers had 1 to 2 Tourings at the most. Very few had our colors (grays or silver). We ended up negotiating (somewhat painfully) with Renton Honda. We ended up with $36.3K for the Touring RES+NAVI + $650 for the accessories (which totalled $1300, wheel locks, cross bars, mud flaps, and lighted running boards), and $11k for the trade-in (my min was $10,750, and I knew I would not get more than $11,925 - the good trade-in value for the car). so in the end, I think we did well. Low availability of Tourings didn't help. If I wanted an EX-L or if I didn't care about color, it would have been easier. These prices are all + TTL.

Pilot EX-L purchased 5/30 in Wisconsin by baw214

I just bought a silver Pilot EX-L for 29,800, including crossbars and towing harness. I had a 6100 trade in (w/ 5300 owed) and 4.8 at 66 mos. Read everything you can on Edmunds about how they make ALL their money AFTER you haggle the price. I hope I got a good deal--I looked around and couldn't find one better. They make their money NOT on the price you're so concerned about working out, but on the trade in and the financing. Don't let them keep you more than 20 mins in the finance office. I turned down everything they offered because research told me they only do it to make money. I made them move me right out of there and didn't listen to one bit of their scenarios. FYI: for every product they try to sell you, they have a little horror story about someone who didn't buy that coverage which is intended to motivate you to buy it. Check with your own insurance co. before you go and ask about GAP insurance. Also, I think I benefitted a lot by having financing from another source. They would offer 6.9 and I would say, my bank has already approved me for 4.8 and they would say We'll match or beat that.

Go in the dealer with the best price (Adertised specials) and don't let them switch you to another offer because it is a brand new ball game and you need time to go home to analysis the second offer.

Pre-approved car loan lowest rate you can find is best way to avoid interest rate rip-off in dealer.

Say ALL 'NO' in Finanace room and don't feel bad not to give them any chance to make extras. You can always get them in cheaper price after a good research online later.

Make sure the dealer can give you trade-in offer very close to KBB's trade-in, not 2K less than that.

Which dealer did you buy from? I am have been looking around as well but they are hard to find now! Do you know any 4WD availability at this dealer or any other dealer? How much did you bargain on this?

Thanks.

That press release from Honda dated May 29 2009 that is about the 2010 Pilot means that they are getting ready to release the 2010s.

This link 2010 Pilot indicates that the 2010 Pilot went on sale on May 29, 2009.

I'd guess that they will be in dealerships shortly. It doesn't make sense to buy an '09 now right before the '10s come out. Once the '10s are out, the prices will drop further on the '09s, and the '10s are not going to sell for much over invoice.

The EX-Ls have enormous supply on the '09s. I wouldn't be surprised to see a $6,000 incentive to dealer on the '09s sometime this year. They are going to sell off whatever of the other models are left with the $1500 incentive (i.e. Touring, LX, etc.) and then push up the incentive dramatically. They won't have a choice, the demand for these cars is terrible.
