Got the following deal offered in Tampa FL 2009 EX-L Base MSRP 34,265 Sales 30,200 Down 1,000 Residual 48% MF .00151 36 months 12K miles Payment $432 pre tax Not too keen on the down over 1st payment but might be applying to TTL etc. What is the current Dealer Cost (profit) on these leases? I have been working with the on-line lease calculators and a similar excel spread but can't seem to get back to their pmt. Would indicate they are adding something but not disclosing. Have been working with them several days and this seems like their bottom. Leaning toward sitting still till next month (Memorial Day Specials) to see if it gets better. Can believe it will get worse. Any thoughts?

I just bought an 2009 EXL Cherry with Black Leather in the Portland Metro area on Friday for $29,999. Since Oregon doesnt have sales tax, my out the door costs for registration/dmv was only $218. So, my total was $30,217. It took some haggling and holding my ground on the price, but I was able to get it. No one should be paying MSRP. THe MSRP on mine was $36k.

They have to move them, or something, or they are going to die off. That's probably what Honda wants at this point anyway, to thin out their dealership base. If they are going to sell 40% fewer cars, what do they need so many dealerships for? Around here there are so many EXLs it's ridiculous. I wouldn't buy one for $30k or even $29k. Why? Why not just wait if you can, the prices are going to drop like a rock. That's a good one - they are losing money! Really funny. (The dealers must hate the internet at this point). These car dealers are thieves, let them starve. They've been raping the common man for so long - so let them eat cake. Good luck to all. P.S. The dealership with 50 EXLs in my area sold 3 between April 1 and April 30 (i.e. today).

| I'm waiting on a 09 touring. hopefully the '10 come out in may and gas goes up a bit for summer driving season - then the dealers will need to put parachutes on all the pilots in the lot they will be falling so fast. | |
