Pilotbound1 - The price $28202.77 looks real.

Honda has manufacturer to dealer incentive $1500 (1/6 - 2/2)

Invoice for EX 4x4 : 28987
Less incentive : -1500
Add dest charge : 670
Net Price : 28157

Dealer makes profit on holdback and other things that we don't know.

Can you give details about your Touring? What was the MSRP, what does the dealer protection pack include, does it include RES & NAVI?

Thanks!

Touring comes standard with Navi. Mine does not have RES (I didnt like the Honda installed RES). MSRP (including destination) is $37,475 and invoice (including destination) is $33,994, as per Edmunds.com. The dealer had priced the protection pack at $595. It included a cargo tray, wheel locks, mud guard, and some kind of door protection patch. My guess is that after-market of these features would be abt $200. Checkout edmunds.com for all the standard features.

Thanks for the reply. I've been pretty set on getting the EXL and hadn't looked at Touring yet. If I can get it for that price, I might.

My local dealer has Tourings for 37,465 & 39,165 - Their lame website doesn't give a difference - I assume it's the RES.

I have to wait until May to buy. Hopefully I won't need financing then. I wouldn't mind making a trip to Dallas.
Thanks.

Price includes new vehicle, their appearance package (mud guards, door edge guards, wheel locks, floor mats...), tax, title, everything, but doesn't take into account whatever finance rate they plan to offer me. I'll know in a couple days, after I get out there, but I'm not holding my breath for anything below 3.9%.

I agree with above poster that these incentives look an awful lot like non-incentives. Price of gas is creeping up in Northern VA where I live...am I making a mistake buying this SUV?

"Sounds to me all you did was waste not only your time but some salesmans time. If you're not buying for a few months why bother trying to make a dealer "squirm" if you're that far removed from the purchase? "

Not really. I test drove the Pilot and Odyssey which helped me decide the vehicle for me and he gave me a competitive price I think.

"I would have walked you to the door long before you felt pressure."

And I would have gladly drove to one of the twenty other Honda dealers in Southern California

"Too bad for the salesman who's time was wasted on you didn't do more to put the "pressure" on. He probably could have saved an hour or two with you, trying to find someone who was there to help him make a living."

So the poor salesman could try and find a less educated buyer to try and squeeze every last penny out of? When a guy tries to charge me $6500 more than a fair price my sympathy quickly runs dry.

Thanks for the life lesson... Guy on the internet personally offended over how I choose to purchase a car.
