Bought 2009 Honda Pilot 2WD Touring w/ Nav and RES by nikbert

+ dealer options (almost mandatory in Houston area) of pro-pack (fabric prot, paint sealant etc), mud flaps, tint, cargo mat, wheel locks = Total 35350 + TTL

Felt like it coulda been lower - but then thats bargaining for you!

The scumbags at Honda Cars of Katy did a complete bait and switch routine with us with a low ball price to draw us in.

Ultimately we bought the car from Goodson Honda North, super nice salesman, usual irritating mgr. Visited twice to get the final price.

Haven't driven the car much, but enjoyed whatever little I drove. Stupid shifter keeps getting in the way though!

Thanks all here and hope this helps someone!

tjb2648, I am little bit confuse here. is the exact selling price 29170 include the 2343.41 tax? I could not get your number right, Or you just get approximately number here. I figura out the thing you pay is about 27100( for car) + 2343 (tax) + 110 (fee). is that right? Or totally you pay 29170 (for car) + 2343 (tax) +110 (fee). Please confirm your car is EX AWD. Thanks for your sharing.

That is so amazing the experience you had with Honda cars of Katy, because I had the exact same thing happen to me. Me and my family also had a low ball deal at the Katy Honda dealer which all seemed great until we figured out just how the deal got there. By extending pay period from 5 years to 7... What a freaking Joke these people... I told them my payments needed to be around 420 a month for 5 years on an EX model. And that the price of the truck and the deal needed to be made possible by my terms or no deal... They tried so hard to get me to sign with the impression that I was getting what I had asked for. Good thing I had called them out after looking at the paperwork carefully.

Well, after a heated exchange of pure disqust, I left... 3 days later I had a great deal working at Goodson Honda in Houston. Even got in at a time where Honda had the 2000 rebate. Ended up with EX-L for an incredible offer with payments of 418 a month. Both of these deals was with a trade in. Goodson also gave me a much better trade in value on my car I had hoped for from an individual purchase type price.

So, do your homework on not just the car, but where you buy it from...

Congrads on your new Pilot!

Change mind on 08 EX-L and got an 09 EX :p by sunnyfl1

Ok I feel compelled to share my experience since reading this forum helped me to make my decision.

Initially I was looking for an 08 EXL (sunroof / Leather and RES) and got the lowest price $25,421 + tax + tag and NO dealer fee on a Silver EXL Pompano Honda (45 min from Miami downtown) I already had quotes from Potamkim, Brickell and Braman.

Went in today(Pompano Honda) 6:PM and was helped by Laura (Really nice non-pushy person) she showed me the 08 EXL , however once I was there and compared side by side the 08 against the 09 and made up my mind.

The price for the 08 EXL was almost the same price as the 09 LX, but I decided to push it to the 09 EX......the main differences are the Wheels (ugly on the LX) plus the roof rack, the rear climate control, the interior is way bigger on the 09.

So here is my final deal:

2009 EX 2wd (Formal Black with gray interior) MSRP $31,165
Vehicle includ accessories, delivery installation charges $28,030
Tax + registration fees in NY (I'm from NY working on a project in FL) $2,681
Documentation stamp fee $112
Dealer fee was Waived

Total out of the door $ 30,823

I also got the Honda financing 3.9 for 60 Mos (monthly payment is $554)

I hope this info would be of value for somebody

Happy New Year

Leased a 2009 Honda Pilot 2WD Touring w/ Nav and RES by agillman

After lurking here for a long time, I finally pulled the trigger and thought I'd share my experience.

Had a very good experience with Honda World in Westminster, CA. Martha in internet sales was great to work with and very aggressive on price. I did a lot of research and shopping and she was extremely professional - no game playing, etc.

Here are the details on my 36 month lease:

MSRP: $39,065 (includes $670 destination)
Cap Cost: $33,822 + 595 acquisition fee (note: this includes a credit of $1,250 for lease cash available to dealers. Had I not leased, the car would have been $35,072)
Residual: 43% or $16,797.95 (15,000 miles per year)
Drive Offs: $980 (first month payment plus CA DMV fees and $45 doc fee)
Money Factor: .0011 (no mark up on national rate)
Monthly Payment: $545.76 plus tax

Love the car so far. The price was very competitive and they were very good with my trade in as well. In and out of the dealership in 2 hours.

Also, I bought an extended warranty to cover the excess mileage. The dealership matched the internet price I brought in, so I was happy with that as well.

I don't know if the Honda incentive will come back but I holding out until 2010.

I think the manufacturer to dealer leasing rebate is $1,500 instead of $1,250

well we pick her up today. just in time for the snowstorm tomorrow. lol...
they lowballed the wholesale price on my trade in . a 2002 good condition oddy. low miles.
i looked at him and said " i will walk out this door and email every dealer in the tri state area. for their best price. i know for a fact that you all have a ton of inventory and cant move the pilots. "
he dissapeared and reappeared with the mgr. who then went up 1200 on my trade in.. AMAZING!

they arent charging us for any prep fees.

bit dissapointed by the runaround by route 23 honda. and i told them that. point blank. just as my 2 year old screamed... "i wann drive a honda" "i wann drive a honda"

I wanted to share my information. I went to Russell Smith Honda. Great place and great sales person named Peter.

2009 EX-L w RES (Sterling Gray and Black leather interior)

Selling price: 32143
Free Tint
Mainly negotiated my 2006 Nissan Altima SE trade to a price as much as KBB. Most dealers were quoting $2000 less than KBB.

After negotiating, I told them I wanted to lease than buy.
36 month lease with 12000 miles per year. Excess mile at 0.15 cents per mile.
Residual was 47%
Money Factor: 0.00110 (Super Preferred Tier)
Free Oil Change for 3 years
Free Windshield Insurance for three years
Additional discount of $280 was thrown in at last minute.
Zero down and no security deposit.
$560 for 36 months. $20074 total payments for 36 months. $16856 option to buy.

Any comments welcome. I cant change the deal but maybe it can be of help to others.
