I have no idea what Honda is going to do, but it seems they are in better shape than most auto companies these days. That is about $400 less than we paid (considering the all season mats) which would obviously be good enough for us to bite, but you can almost certainly guarantee that the deals aren't going to get any worse.

I'd skip the wax treatment and hold out of the 1.9/3.9- although I think second tier is 2.9 and 4.9 which isn't bad either.

I have read a lot of great info on this site but I am having trouble finding info on the LX model. I currently own an 04 Accord and want something (more like need something) with 4WD. I am beginning talks with a salesperson via the internet but want to know what I should be paying for this model. Does anyone know anything about the LX prices right now?

I got a quote on LX 2WD model 2 weeks ago at $25900. I guess you can negotiate the price down to at least $25500. Usually 4WD will add $1400 more.

How'd I do - EX-L 2WD $420 @ month w/ $1k down by cheez

Just leased a Honda Pilot EX-L 2WD for $30,318 ($29,373 + $350 tax + $595 acquisition). I put $1000 down, which included the first month's payment of $420 and all other fees.

Residual value after 36 months / 12k is $16,447.

I really like the vehicle, but wanted to share what I was able to get and was curious how you think I did?

Vehicle was leased in the DFW area.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I may have to lease in order to be able to afford this vehicle. Money is tight right now. The dealer told me he could get me into a lease for $300/mo which I believe is the special right now. I did read somewhere that it isn't a good idea to put money down on a lease. Any thoughts?

I think they said that in case of accident and the car is totaled loss, then your down payment on leasing is history. That is why 0 down is best.

I am trying to get $10,500 for the 03 EXL Pilot with 37K miles and excellent
condition. He offered 10K while he is trying to get more. ( I'll know more tommorrow)
I'm blessed to have a good banking relationship which is offering prime rate
financing (3.25%) so not having the financing offer from Honda isn't a big deal.
We'll see what he wants for the 7 year wax job and the other options.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Does anyone have comments on the color
Taffeta White with the grey verses the blue interior?

 Best regards

A good deal??? by kat2800

A local dealer is offering an 09 Pilot EX for $299/mo for 36 mo with 12K/yr. $998 is due at signing plus tax, title, reg. They are making the payments for you until June 2009. The residual value is at 54%. My biggest concern is that when I go to buy the lease out at the end I am going to be in a bad position. Is this lease a good deal?

I don't think you should ever enter into a lease with the intention of buying out the vehicle at the end of lease term. If you truly intend to keep the vehicle, you would get your best financing rates and terms when the vehicle is "new" rather than when it is 3 years old.

I have leased a number of vehicles, and only once was the residual value lower than market. And when that market exception occurred, I bought it, only to trade it in on our next vehicle. (which was a purchase).

Remember - the vehicle's residual or market value at the end of a lease is fixed. What makes one lease payment higher or lower is a factor of the sales price, the money factor (interest rate) and any money put down (which should always be avoided).

The market for that vehicle in 3 years will determine what kind of position you will find yourself in.

2009 pilot EXL .....Boston 2009 Pilot by cdolan59

I was wondering about anyones thoughts about purchasing an EXL 2009 pilot 2WD or 4WD.
The news today 12/22/08, reflects Toyota's first operating loss in 70 years. I cannot imagine things are any different for Honda.Honda seems to be quite arrogant regarding cash back incentives. My understanding is that the new incentives come out on January 5th 2009.

Can I have anyones input regarding trying to get a year end deal or wait for the new incentives? I cannot imagine I would pay more by waiting? I would think Honda is in the same situation as Toyota.

Any comments would be appreciated.
