I just bought in Eastern Washington State. I used the internet in several states, phoned most dealers in Eastern Washington, and personally drove to most of the dealers in the Seattle/Tacoma area. The majority of dealers in E. Wash. had no pilots on the lot. Most big Seattle dealers seamed to only have a couple. The best deal, out of state, was $28,400. I paid $28850 close to my town for a silver EX. Just lucky timing, the right color and model on the lot. I pushed for lower, actually left, and they let me go convinced in would sell for higher. I relented and bought for the $400 under invoice the next day. Not the best deal in the world, but from what I can see, availability is still tight and it was probably as good as I can do right now. I emailed lots of places out of state, and even though slightly lower, with shipping thrown in it almost became a push. I read stories of lower purchase prices here, but frankly, getting anything below the low $28's I'm skeptical of. Great car, fun to drive. |

binylee, shipping from Ohio to Portland costs around 700 or 800 dollars. I am considering buying and shipping an EXL to Portland. even after paying 800 dollars to ship it, it will still be worth while(given that the dealers in our area won't take more than three to five hundred dollars off MSRP). Maybe if we buy and ship our Pilots together we could save some money. |

godfathermdh, It sounds good. I am buying one as soon as possible. How about you? Can you close the deal soon? As soon as I agree the pricing with them, I will go with financing part. He said Honda has 4.1% financing. Do you think we can do better than that by waiting to July 4th? We don't have to pay taxes right? Since we live in Portland. I got a rough shipping quote from last night for $1100. Sounds like you found a better source. Can you contact them with the discount if ship 2? We'll split the shipping cost. I can't post my email here. But we'll think some other way to communicate. |

binylee, In the Annapolis, MD area, many of the credit unions are offering interest rates on car loans of 3.99%. Several of my friends have recently purchased Honda vehicles (an Accord and an S2000) and when they mentioned to the dealer that they were going to finance through their credit unions, Honda offered them an interest rate of 3.64%. Needless to say, they went with Honda financing. |

| I just refinanced my pickup for 3.99% (from 6.0% which had been refinanced from 8.55% all within the last 3 years) at my credit union here in the Dallas area. In fact, they also paid me 0.5% of the loan as a bonus to do it. | |

Any suggestions for good deals to be had in Tucson, Phx or Vegas? Beadry's (Tucson) offer was ridiculus a few months ago (over MSRP, called it "Market Value" or something)--and we had bought a VW from them last year. I have thought about going to Vegas. I know I will have to pay AZ tax when registering in AZ--though I think I can save another 1.5% or so in local taxes I otherwise would pay. TIA |

| If a Honda dealer is able to sell all of it's allotted inventory of Pilot at or near MSRP, how is it losing business? I have sold quite a few vehicles and many Pilots to you folks on this forum, mostly very nice people trying to save a few bucks. AVAILABILITY is the driving factor behind Pilot pricing. If I had three Pilot EX cloth in Havasu Blue, I could give a better deal than the Sagebrush that I have 10 people waiting for. From what I have seen, pricing varies considerably by region. My best advice is that if you can buy a Pilot for around $1500 over locally, DO IT!!! You are not getting gouged. Alot of you are business owners and that money would stay local and go back into your local economy. Car salesman are consumers too. I negotiate on alot of things I buy, but I also know that businesses are open to make money. Don't do business with dealers that charge over MSRP or have nuisance fees. Go with the one that you feel the most comfortable with. I personally bought a Pilot recently and paid $1500 over invoice as an employee. This is a very fair price for this vehicle, since it is not distressed merchandise. Someone offering me invoice for a new Pilot would be akin to me offering them $3000 less for their trade than what its's worth. A Little Insulting. Any Comments? | |

Sounds like fair to me. It's all about supply and demand. Well, it's just that the Pilot is too good to pass. Just try to get the best deal. Oh man, talking about he sagebrush??? I saw one and felt in love with it. I offer a $1000 under MSRP. But the deale insist at $300 under... bumper |

nope. You are perfectly correct. But that trade adjustment does happen alot. There were several times during our most recent shopping where the dealer gave a good discount off MSRP and then proceeded to offer way less for our trade. Its a very common practice. Pretty annoying. $1500 over locally is virtually the same as getting it $500 over elsewhere and then needing to ship it. Even if you save $200-$300 by buying it halfway across the country, I don't think the hassle is worth it. That's exactly why we gladly took the offer of $1100 off sticker near our home. |
