Don't you feel suspicious of there's a brand new 2005 Pilot still around?
Why can't they sell this car for the past 3 years?
There will be a lot of questions to ask and check anything wrong with this car.
Of course a test drive is needed before any offer is offered.

In EBay Motor I found a 2005 Pilot in "New" section which is in NY. However this car has lots of mileage. It should be a mistake.

I actually just purchased a 05 Acura MDX w/navi, 60,000 miles for $19k, including the wraparound 100k/7yr warranty.

I guess they scared me into it! I couldn't pass up the deal on the MDX, and couldn't find a Pilot low enough to outbid that deal!

Mitch65:

It is really difficult to make an offer on a vehicle that you have not seen or test driven.

My First reaction would be why are they not answering YOUR questions - I would really push hard to have MY questions answered first.

In addition I would ask them outright what they want for this vehicle - let them make the first offer not YOU. Plus ask them for the VIN number so that you can check it.

Then make an appointment to inspect( make sure the VIN number they gave you matches the one on the vehicle) and test drive the vehicle -

Of course, I'm a little suspicious, but if it's new, what could be wrong with it? Unless it has like a hundred miles on it.
I think that was the one I saw too on eBay. But as I said, they did say they have a new one in stock, and it's on their inventory on their website.

I'm not surprised that they don't answer my questions directly. But sadly, that's what I expect from them. Either I play email tag with them and not get my questions answered directly, or I make a trip to see them.
I could ask them what they want or the car, but what difference would that make? It would be a pie in the sky number that I would have to bring down by several thousand I'm sure. That's why I want to know what would be a fair price, in the end. And hopefully, it does exist and is new. Actually on their website inventory, they allow you to print out the specs on the car, and even shows the VIN#. So how do I go about checking out the VIN# ?
Thanks.

48,631 MILES was listed. Doesn't look like NEW to me.

you can use ebay cheaper rate to check the VIN# to see whether registered before.

I went back to ebay and looked at the vehicle again. The VIN # listed matches the one on the dealers website, so I'm confident this vehicle exists. However, I checked the vehicle history report on eBay and saw that there was at least 8,000 mile on the car! And it had already been registered.
Can they still call this new? Anyway, it looks like no deal for me.

I think if it's a "DEMO" car they can list it as new.

"Demo" is NOT registered. Once it's registered, it is SOLD & USED, IMHO.

Here is their response to my email. Do intelligent people work there?

Hi

I believe that this particular Pilot had about 52k miles. We only provide VIN's to vehicles when it is purchased. We have a wharehouse in Brooklyn and found alot of brand new vehicles. Yes, it is a brand new vehicle. We have had alot of calls on this particular Pilot, when can you make it into our showroom and go over your options?

Can you tell me the miles on the NEW 2005 Pilot.
Can you also tell me the VIN# ?
And why do you still have a 2005 model. Is it really new?
Is there anything unusual about it?
Thanks.
