Just a few years back Honda used to no deal with you because they knew that behind you there was another willing buyer to pay full price. This is not the case in the current market. The only way they are able to clear inventory is through incentives (either financing and or rebates). The competition has stiffened and now Honda is willing to negotiate with their prices. I bet money the rebates in the 2009 will come back either late this year or by spring of 2009. It will be a fact. You are both Correct. Supply and demand does play a part as does inventory. Each manufacturer has they own formula. But, bear in mind, current market conditions are not like anyone has ever experienced. Most vehicles are sold with credit, and right now credit is at a standstill. What we do not know is how long Honda dealers can keep current prices without incentives in this uncertain market.   Fred I

I signed the contract & put money down on a car that was intransit to another dealer. I was to pick up in a few days. I just got call saying the other dealer had 4 grand worth of extras on it & I can't get that car unless I pay extra. Am just plain out of luck here? Or am out of line to be upset & think I should have a some sort of legal right to the car? I'm put a ton of effort looking at cars & we finally found the one & color we wanted. I've been following this board off and on for quite awhile, given the current market I was testing the waters.   I have two offers for a 2008 SE for ~$26,800 using request a quote from the Honda website.   I have two questions: How much (if any) negotiation room is there? Doubtful.. nothing worth pursuing..   I'd just say, "No way".. then, see what happens... A deal is a deal.. if they won't deal, then write them off..

And you should deduct another $150ish because they won't have to pay a floor plan expense on the car.

Finally bought my Black 2009 Pilot EX-L 2wd auto for $30,500. This includes the Doc fee, but not TTL. Have them install running boards with lights for additional $800. Drove it home last night....loving it. This is in Norman,Oklahoma.
