It has been a while without checking this board... I purchased a Pilot 2009 Touring with RES (2WD) back in June and I got it for 36,085.00 -- chrome running boards included. If I was to minus out the running boards from the price ($650 based on Honda website) then the price I paid was 35,435 + TTL. My Pilot now has 2,080 miles and I'm loving every minute of it. I guess the only thing I wish was available at that time was the 3.9 financing, but I was lucky to get 4.5 from my credit union. So, 1k or 2k difference really doesn't matter that much when you finance -- the payment difference is not really that much as I see people trying to nickel and dime their deals. I believe prices are not going to change that much until the end of this year, unless you end up with an end of the month super deal (dealer trying to score one last sale before the end of the month). Good luck to all of you trying to nail a deal. If the dealer is not willing to go much off MSRP, go somewhere else! I'm sure you'll find a dealer willing to help you out if they see that you are serious about getting a Pilot. Try the OTD approach with an option or two and be firm, perhaps with a small deposit to show you are serious about it. LOL... I'm yet still waiting to see my Pilot give 23mpg, but I haven't visit my parents up in Jacksonville, FL... that would be a 5 hours drive for me.. but even then I'm not sure if the Pilot can really give us 24mpg...lol... Good hunting...

Replying to: tour_7 (Aug 19, 2008 8:46 pm) I requested one dealer quote thru Edmunds today here in Houston and got an offer of $36,995 plus TTL. Below TMV price but way above what others are getting. I guess I should be able to go back to him and offer him $2000 below invoice due to the dealer marketing support? Edmunds says most salesman usually don't know about that (and also that it is included in the TMV, which apparently it is not). I guess the worst he can do is say no, huh? |

| They are GoodYear tires, I believe. Does anyone know the life of the tires? 50K? 80K? | |

I just got my 2009 Pilot EX-L 4x4 for $31,531 not including tax, license. I used carsdirect dot com to look for the vehicle. Got it from Dublin Honda in California. I used 1.9% financing for 36 months. There wasnt much of buying experiance since I went through an internet dealing site. All I had to do was inspect the vehicle sign a bunch of stuff and they handed me my key along with a tank full of gas and a vehicle washed. But I was helped by a salesmen a few days before purchase so I mentioned that to the fleet manager. Apperantly the salesman will get half of the comission from internet sales since he helped me. If I didn't mention the salesman name he would of got nothing. I only driven the car for maybe 12 miles and so far I really like it. |

| Last week i posted about an AWD EX'09 for OTD price of $29,180.60. But today i received an offer internet price of $25,966.00 for AWD SE'08 (w/c is my first choice). so most likely it would be around $27K and a hundreds for OTD price. Did anyone know if this is a great deal to grab? Thanks a lot. | |

| I am north of Boston. I contacted 4 area dealers. All were coming in around $33k. The lowest 3 offers were w/in a couple hundred $ of each other and I probably could have knocked off a $100-$200 more, but I was getting tired of the process and it wasn't worth the time. I sent out requests for quotes via the internet. After getting quotes from each, I did the negotiation all via email. | |

Replying to: ben_jammin (Aug 19, 2008 9:25 pm) Please note, my deal was done 1 or two weeks right after the new Pilot showed up in South Florida dealers. However, I had to do a lot of leg work to nail my deal. One dealer called me crazy because according to him I was not going to find anything below 38,500 + TTL -- the SUV was too new... Well, my answer back to him was: you don't understand, today's hot market is about saving gas and this vehicle is not one of them. I basically played the no-so-interested-but-my-wife-likes-it -- "make-me-like-it, too" kind of approach. After 5 dealer visits, the Internet manager in Maroone Honda, near Miami Lakes understood where I was coming from and accepted my offer... "I wanted a Pilot Touring with RES and chrome side steps OTD for 39,000. Period. Let them figure out how to work out the dealer fees, etc..etc..etc... Since Pilot sales are going sour, today I would probably say 38,000 OTD. and make those chrome steps shinny I'm a firm believer dealers are not going to sale you something without making money out of it...
