I am going to Sacramento next weekend and plan on test driving a Honda Pilot 09. Any suggestions for dealers to see. I am hoping to get a 4WD with DVD and NAV. If I am correct the only choice I have to get both is the touring model. True? Thanks for any help.

Any Chance you can kindly email me your quote that you got for $23,500? Also looking to buy the same exact model that you got and we're so close to getting it down to the price you got but they won't budge! Let me know... appreciate it.

Pricing for '08 Pilot & Tactics/Buying by camatt1

I've not been on in awhile,yet I'm still shopping for an '08 (4WD) Pilot,..I don't even
care if I come across a "used" one or a Dealer Demo with less than 5K miles. My
approach has been to lay out the facts to the Dealers I've contacted via e-mail
only, that SUV sales stink, Pilot sales thru May, YTD are down some 16% and most
likely when June sales figures are available tomorrow they'll "soften" further (probably
around 20%+ decline from a year ago). What I've read from some buyer's on this website seems to tell me they're not getting the best deal, given that there's a surplus of unsold product, lease returns for prior years ('07's especially) are coming
in steadily to Dealerships, '08's, whether VP's, EX thru EXL's, aren't being discounted
enough to offset the massive depreciation that will take place over the next four years under personal ownership. Does anyone know or have any experience
with Landmark Honda in Alexandria, VA as they seem very aggressive on their
internet e-mail offers but I feel they may be a "little shaky" on actual Dealer
Reputation. They're offering EXL (4WD) '08's at $25,900+TTL but I'm thinking it'll
get better as even at those numbers they still have unsold stock as we approach
the July 4th sales period. I'm trying to be an informed buyer & have ZERO loyalty
to any Dealership as I'm trying my darndest to "stick it to them,..this time"
but so far it's not to the point where I feel I can't refuse their offers. The Dealers
are definitely "in this together" and are "looking over each other's shoulder," therefore it's my feeling they don't want to deal with an informed & aggressive buyer. They want the emotional, "spur of the moment" shopper that thinks $5K
off MSRP is a deal & I'm not that type. I'm going to try & GET IT ALL! Any advice/
suggestions or experience from a recent purchase that says, once you get into
the Dealership & state the number you're willing to pay that they (the Dealers)
"fold their hand" and you walk away with a true bottom line deal?

2008 Honda Pilot SE 4WD by jimmy44

End of June - I worked a deal for a 2008 Honda Pilot SE 4WD. I paid $26,159.00, which was the "out the door" price that included everything (ie., price, destination fee, processing fee, prep fee, and all dealer add ons - pin stripes and mud flaps). I did not use dealer financing. I did not have a trade in.

After internet research, several internet quotes, visits to several dealerships, I determined the SE I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. During negotiations, the dealer's "final offer" for the SE was more than I was willing to pay. I had to walk away from the "final offer" to "think about it". (During negotiations, I informed the dealer that my plan B was to go to another dealership and buy my second choice vehicle - which was the lower model EX, which would have been less expensive. This was my honest intent.) The next day, the dealer called me back to negotiate further on the SE I wanted. In the end, I got the SE I wanted, at the price I was willing to pay. Entire process took about 2 weeks to complete. From my experiece, the dealers were nice to work with and very professional.

I believe research, a strategy, sincerity, and patience are important when buying a new vehicle. This site was very helpful in my research.

I hope I received a "good deal". In any event, I am a happy customer, with a great honda pilot.

Wow, I think that's a fantastic deal. I've been shopping around in the North East for the past month or so for the exact vehicle (2008 SE 4x4) and the best price I've been given is $27,965 OTD. Can you provide the dealership name or any other info that would help in getting a similar deal? Thanks!!
