Replying to: kyfdx (Jun 20, 2008 9:17 am) Its common for dealers to work the few new models arriving for a few weeks or months at msrp to the just gotta have the latest crowd. One would think this would be a shorter period this year than most for the pilot. Given it may be hard to trade in a 08 pilot 12 months from now for 12000 off msrp, I really wouldn't be jumping at the 09 for less than 5000-6000 off. Good luck --jjf So there is nothing I can do legally to make them honor the quote? |

We truly closed the deal via the internet. I e-mailed him detailed pictures of my trade and he gave me a trade price that did not change when I got there. I did send him very detailed photos though, about 20 of them. I was a uch smoother and honest internet purchasing experience. I bought a 2008 SE 2wd from him. There are tons of those available in DFW. Not quite as many VP's but Bob is looking to get rid of the 2008 Pilots. Please let me know what happens. I think he will work hard to get your business. (reply to this with your e-mail and I we can talk more about it.) MC

I am working with a dealer on an 08 4x4 EX-L RES, have not put on the table yet that I want to add the tow package. (Both coolers, hitch, harness, ball). I called another dealer and asked the service dept how much the parts and labor would be to install and they indicated it would cost 1260. There is a build a pilot WWW site that I found which indicates the package (when you add it to a car at purchase) might be closer to 900. Just want to get an idea what folks are generally getting it for before I negotiate. There is a chance my purchase might take place after 30 June. Anyone know what is expected on 1 July and after as I think I read that one of the incentives expires at end of June. Is something better traditionally on the horizon for July? Thanks |

...and chrome side steps. Websites out there shows it for MSRP $39,728... + tax + yada, yada... ...well, got it for $36,085.00 + (Tax $2,081, based on $2000 trade-in) + $600 for the dealer + 160 tag transfer + $8.50 misc. = 38,934 OTD. - $2,000.00 trade-in = 36,934 to finance. Based on information out there, I believe I paid $600 above invoice for this baby. I just couldn't wait longer since my trade-in had almost 160,000 miles and dated back to the last year from our last century. I live in South Florida and the honda dealer (maroone) is right between 836 (Palmetto) and 54 Ave. (Red Road). Try the internet manager... The 2009 Pilot may very well be $3,500 below invoice by this time next year (dealer incentive -- 2010 out in the market) or perhaps even sooner due to gas prices, but I feel Ok with the outcome of my deal. I hope this help others that are looking for a 09 Pilot... Suggestion: I always work my deals with an out-the-door price figure and remember to include an option or two on that price!... try to be reasonable and don't give up, you'll always find someone who wants to work with you... |
