We purchased an 08 AWD VP on Feb. 16th for right around $22,250. After our trade-in and taxes, title, etc... we walked out the door at $21,535. I thought this was a great price, but I think others were getting a bit better. Don't worry about what price you paid. You got a great vehicle that will keep you safe and happy. You also won't have to worry about taking it into the shop every other month for crap going bad.

i should have waited. when i bought it there was no rebates/incentives

That is not correct, there were for sure lease and sales incentives when you purchased. You may not have received the benefit from them, but your dealer sure did. For sure $2,500 sales incentive and perhaps the $3,500 was in place at that time.

It pays to check here and Edmunds incentives page BEFORE you buy and not after.

The best price on the hondacare warranty is from myhondawarranty.com. It is about $1000 for the vehicle you have and the 7/100. You can wait until the original factory warranty is to expire and spend an extra $140 or so I believe but I don't think it extends the time or mileage.

you can look up warranty or "parts" in the search feature for some good internet sites for parts and hondacare warranties.

Good luck

Iis want to thank everyone who posted their prices and experiences, especially Dennis and Parvis, it's been really helpful. You feel empowered through the whole car buying process.

Parvis, last night I purchased a 08 2WD EXL from Larry Hopkins in Sunnyvale. Habib was terrific! My (small) local dealership dicked around for a week. Three times they gave me their "very best price" bs.............. and in the end it was $600 more than Larry Hopkins original offer that I had wanted.

Price 25,600
OTD 27,883 (7.75% tax incl.)

4.9% for 60mo. (no 2.9% available)

Now on to the extended warranty, which was offered to me for 7/70000 $1681. Is this worth it? It seems strange to purchace an ew that you don't even need (overlapse) for the first 3/36000. So it's 4yrs at $420 per. Not included in that :

You have till 6000 miles to buy it as a 'new' car at a reduced price. After that you pay "used" car pricing, hence jfritsch saying pay the extra $140 or so. Buying it is a personal preference, I bought it on my EXL /Navi because of the Navi and electronics. One thing to keep in mind though is that there is a chance that Honda may prevent online companies from selling Honda Care online, effective April 1, 2008. See the warning note on the home page of the online dealer. I am guessing other dealers have been putting Honda under pressure for the "fair" competition they couldn't handle.

Everybody should know that as of April 1, 2008, you WILL NOT be able to purchase a HondaCare warranty from anybody online, nor from any dealer outside of either (your region or purchasing dealer). So, don't wait to make your purchase - it will end up costing you!

The current ones may have started on the 8th, but there are plenty of us here that got below invoice deals in Jan using the dealer incentives active at that time.
