Replying to: dwynne (Feb 26, 2008 3:44 pm) How close are you to Memphis? I bought a 2WD EX-L there two weeks ago and got an OTD of $27,300 (includes 5% MS sales tax). In other words, I bought the Pilot for $26K including all fees. If you want more info - email at cbruton2

I started discussions by e-mail but when the salesperson played the "we'll beat any price" routine I called her directly. At first she said she couldn't move on price, but then five minutes later she went down $1,000. I said fine and hung up. Twenty minutes later her manager e-mailed me and said they had more room on price. I called the manager several hours later. After a twenty-five minute phone call with the manager here's the end result: Salesperson's best offer was $28,690. Manager went to $28,300, then $28,000. I then told the manager to speak with her boss and I would buy it that night if she did it for $27,500. She came back after speaking with her boss and said $27,700. I said fine, let's split the difference and do it for $27,600 (this price includes the destination fee). Bottom Line: Be aggressive and don't give in. Get to a manager asap. They'll tell you they are losing money, just laugh at them. Just a comment on the reply by JROYHONDA. I also spoke with Herb Chambers, but what annoyed me with them was that they just kept saying they'll beat anyone's price if I brought in a written offer. They were never willing to give a lower figure to me by e-mail or over the phone. I ignored them after that.

Replying to: gkycia (Feb 26, 2008 5:49 pm) Thanks so much for the detailed response! I made an email offer of $27,500 (including destination) to Boch and I got the "thousands less than our cost" "if you get that price elsewhere, jump on it" blah blah. I will take your advice and give them a call. I am starting the process with Herb too. I should be getting an email offer tomorrow. |

Wondering what you all think of this price, Honda VP including Destination Charge lowest quote so far is: $21,400.00 in Southern Cal Thinking of pulling the trigger on this but they only have white, red, blue and black left on the VP's Was Looking for Silver. White was a reluctant last choice of four. Anyway, Co-wokers think it is a great deal. What have you all been getting for this model. Thanks! You all are a wealth of great info.

| To bad I missed the 2.9% financing. They are offering 4.99%. I haven't read anyone that has used their home equity line to finance their purchase. Obviously, at 2.9 it's a no brainer. Currently my home equity rate is 5.49%, but as you know that can change quickly. However, the interest is tax deductable. Any thoughts? Can you pay off a 60mo. loan early? | |
