I initially sent out quote requests using Edmunds and received several quotes within a few days or so. The lowest one I got was from Koons in Manassas which was around $30,500 for the sale price (not including destination). The salesman told me they are currently offering a $500 off the internet quote coupon for this month which will bring down the price to roughly $30,000. Figuring this is a very good price, I called Hendrick to see if they can match this price. The manager I spoke to said he would match this price and since Hendrick is the closest dealer to me (I live in Springfield, VA), I went with them. The transaction was very smooth and the people there were excellent. They have a large selection with many colors to choose from. My wife really like the Nimbus Gray and that's what we got. Hope this helps and good luck. |

Making just a few hundred $$ on a new car won't be enough for dealers to stay in business and pay for all the overhead and the salaries/commissions. They would make much more in interest having invested that money (And they do pay interest on the money thay borrow to carry the cars on the lot). I think the key is that we, as customers, make good deals and be happy with it. And this was one of those deals. |

Replying to: tsinoy (Jan 29, 2008 9:08 pm) My e-mail address is in my profile if you want to drop me a line. I will post the prices once I have them. I would expect down into the hold back a good ways for both, but it depends on the number they have in stock and how fast/slow they are moving, I guess. They have an online inventory so you can go count the number of each Dennis |

Replying to: tsinoy (Jan 29, 2008 9:08 pm) They said someone had already contacted them on these two trim lines, so I guess that was you? Anyway: SE 4WD Price: $27,993 MF: .00014 Residual: 54% or $18,592 $0.00 Cap Reduction $298 + tax X 36 months EX-L 4WD with Navigation Price: $31,693 MF: .00014 Residual: 51% or $18,502 $0.00 Cap Reduction $399 + tax X 36 months For reference, invoice is $30,510 on the SE and $32,905 on the EX-L/NAV, so the discount is MUCH better on the SE (and I bet they have a lot more of them to choose from). Hi. I have a disabled daughter who is sometimes in a wheelchair and I am looking for a new car. We do not need a car that has a ramp. I am thinking about a Honda Pilot. I like many things about is but the only thing that isn't perfect is the back door does not open as wide as I would like. I live in Louisville, KY and am looking for a good deal. A really good deal! The car does not even have to be brand new. I understand the '09's are going to be new so now is a good time. Any advice? Thank you.

Replying to: beesmom (Feb 01, 2008 10:27 am) The current lease deals on the Pilot VP 2WD and 4WD call for the dealers to price the SUV at around $500 under invoice if you do the cheap lease - but folks are finding they can at even lower prices. If you opt to purchase, you should be able to knock off another $500 off of that to get to around $1k under invoice OR MORE. The total dealer money should be $1k on leases and $1,500 on purchases. "Test drive" the door opening with your daughter at the dealership. With the 3rd row of seats folded there is gobs of room inside behind the 2nd row. About the only negatives are the low MPGs (as you would expect for a good size SUV) and the future resale value may be low. Dennis |

| I just bought a new '08 Honda Pilot VP 4WD for $25,159 - about $1700 under invoice - Does anyone know if that is a good deal? | |
