The current model is just a few years old (2009) and so I doubt a new one is forthcoming.

#1074 of 1081 upgraded lights

I had to upgrade the lights on my '06 since one of the bulbs on the LB's finally bit the dust. I was toying with the idea of upgrading to the HID's and getting really good candle power, but with the off-roading / water fording I do, they wouldn't have survived.
I ended up getting the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs and changed them out myself (very easy) and all I can say is WOW. If you think the Pilot has low power lights as standard wait till you see the difference if you upgrade. The new lights are really clear and bright and makes night / rain drivng much better. We had a massive foggy night the other night and I got to try out the new lights. I did not need to use the fog lights. Can't wait to get them off-road.

Silver Stars do have a very bright light but the downside is that they have a very short life. 6-9 months is not uncommon.

the problem with the short lif is people that when installing end up touching the bulbs. I wore surgical gloves to take the old ones out and then new ones to put new bulbs in. Also, I've checked, must of the short life are on DRL's, so thankfully "The Beast" doesn't have those.

Food for thought:
every forum I've ever read has noted that the Silver Stars have a very short life span. They are whiter but they run hotter hence the shorter life.
I've never used them as the parts store has told me they tend to die very quickly compared to regular halogen bulbs. IIRC, the display at the parts store even notes the life is fairly short.
In any case, good luck with them and let us know how long they actually last.

A couple of years ago when I installed my running boards myself I found online directions how to make a homemade rivet tool to handle the rivets that Honda sneakily designed. Search the web. You can make this tool out of a bolt, some washers, and some nuts from your local hardware store. Here is one posting....
