Replying to: fintail (Jan 09, 2009 6:19 pm) 1958 Lancia Appia S2- What a cool little car, going cheap so far. 1960 Caddy Hearse- That black beauty is in a lot better shape than the '76 Hearse we had at the radio station I worked at in the mid-'90s. 1977 AMC Hornet wagon- A surprising number of cars like it are still used as daily drivers by retirees living in AZ. I talked to a couple that had 288K on their Hornet wagon.

mazda 323 wagon! didn't see any rust. also a late 70's ford pickup. |

| coming home from work, I saw a couple old furriners. First, a mid-1980's Nissan 300Z, the 2+2 style. Burgundy color. Looked like it was still in decent shape. Also saw one of those little early 70's BMW hardtops. The 3.0 CS or whatever it was called? Wasn't pristine, but wasn't a beater either...just looked like a decent daily driver. | |

I waved at you, but your eyes were focused on the car.

Right, it wasn't me. You described my car correctly, though, if you consider a 1988 to be a mid-1980s. The Z31 generation included the 1984-1989 model years. |

This is Auction Week in Scottsdale, AZ and I've seen more wonderful old cars than I could possibly describe to you. I'll try to post pictures and/or links as I get around to downloading them. I would like to mention one because I've admired pictures and descriptions of it for a very long time. I still have the Road & Track 1962 Road Test Annual with their road test of the Maserati 3500GT Vignale Spider where I first saw a photograph of the car that was similar to this one (except in B&W)> I even recall the subhead of the article "A Modenese Masterpiece for the Touring Enthusiast". Today I saw one for the first time and I was not disappointed, it's every bit as pretty as a Ferrari 250 California and a little more agressive looking. Pix of the black beauty I saw in a few days. I still have two or three more auctions to do but I doubt I'll see anything more impressive to me than that Maser.
