See, that's what I thought they did. I was confused at what xplorx4 was saying because the names "traction control system" and "vehicle stability assist" have no relation to one another. One is supposed to control traction, while the other is supposed to control handling. I can see your point about why they are both disabled when you push the VSA button on the dash.

Here's another thing, but correct me if I'm wrong... the VSA on the TSX is the same setup as on the RL and I would assume the TL has the same also. The VSA on the RL allots 60% of power to the front wheels and 40% to the back, but when cornering, the VSA can transfer up to 100% of power to the outside wheels. I was always under the impression that since its the same system on all the cars, that this is what it did. Similar to a limited-slip diff.

Sorry, this last parts kind of misleading. Minus the AWD from the TSX and TL. I meant to say that the VSA on both of these cars just transfers power left to right, whereas the setup on the RL transfers power to all four corners.

Thanks for clarifying the differences between the features. I was aware that technically there is a difference between TCS and VSA, I just didn't provide the details. Though the two systems do different things (as you mentioned above) I believe flicmod was under the impression (previously) that TCS cannot be disabled, but VSA can. I guess my main point was that on the TSX, both VSA and TCS are disabled/enabled when you press the "VSA OFF" button. So that's why I called them "the same thing."

Yeah, you're right xplorx4. The whole thing with the button just saying "VSA Off" is pretty misleading. It should say "TCS VSA Off" to be politically correct. Glad we solved the issue though! Good work guys.

Stability control operates the same basic way on all cars but the software is tuned for each specific vehilcle depending on their handling characteristics.

I posted this before on this thread, but chose to do it again...

Does anyone know of a vender that sells roof bike racks for the TSX? My trunk mounted one wont work on it because I have a spoiler. Any help would be great!

Yakima, Thule, and Saris all has fitments for the TSX.

Go to:

www.yakima.com

www.thuleracks.com

www.saris.com

Good Luck.

I have a Yakima roof top rack on my TSX. I have used it for both skis and bikes. The Yakima was the same price as a Thule, and it looks better on the car I think. I have been very happy with it. The weather stripping around the doors seal around the clips nicely.

You will notice a little more wind noise, but that is pretty much unaviodable. You can still slide the sunroof back, but you can't tilt it up with bike mounts on. If you buy everything at REI, you get 10% back at the end of the year if you are a member ($15 for life). That is good savings as roof racks rarely go on sale.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the whole rack? I see the mount system is about $230 and the bike anchors are around $100 to $200. I was looking for a tandem set up in case I wanted to take both road and mountain bike with me.
