I am a senior citizen with limited mobility. For 10 years I have been driving minivans and SUVs, not out of need for space or off roading, but because I could sit straight up and not crawl into the drivers seat. Ford came out the the 500, a sedan that sits up high and I can get into without injuring myself. Problem is I do not want to buy a Ford. Are there other manufacturers making or planning a sedan with straight up seating? I would think with the greying of the boomers there would be a market for such cars. I am a Saab owner - a 2000 9-5 Aero 5-spd manual - that mostly satisfies my desire for size, performance, style, safety, and practicality I was searching for when I bought my first 9000. Now that my kids are gone and I have no debt to speak of, I am thinking of acquiring a 2-seat sports car to satisfy me, me, me (selfish boomer, eh?). I viewed the article about the potential for a Saab Sonett in 2008(?) based upon the recently displayed Aero X concept in Geneva, AutoWeek's Best in Show (or Best Concept) with great interest. Does anyone know more about the evolution of the idea? I have less tolerance for clicking through blogs for hours just to view speculation about the car than others, I suppose. I would like to read any published "official" news/updates about the 2-seater that is alleged to be coming from Saab. Is there a Topic that is already cookin' of which I am unaware? Please respond.
