Pulsating Dashboard Lights by xmtr
Sep 30, 2004 (5:39 pm)
Does anyone have any problems with their lights pulsating all the time? They go dim, then bright. Had it to the dealer, they first told me it was "normal". Then they changed the battery and it was OK for 6 months, now it seems to be back.

New PT Owner Has Questions by mykie

2004 Limited automatic. Love this car! Does anyone miss not having ABS brakes? I miss the headlights not staying on after ignition is off. I heard 06 will have a V6. Thank you.

Does the 05 GT really need premium gas? by alrfree
Mar 22, 2005 (11:56 am)
I just bought the 05 GT (220 hp, turbo) with a stick shift. I live in So. California. There's a sticker on the gas cap stating "premium grade recommended." Does it really make a difference what grade gas I use or (my cynical side asks)did the oil companies give Chrystler $$$$ to put that sticker on the car? Is there any downside to using regular or middle grade gas?

Your GT will accelerate faster and get a little better mpg using premium. Generally, an owner's manual will say that regular can be used, but performance will be reduced.

All three of my cars (including an 03 GT) felt okay using regular and ran fine too. However, mpg dropped by about 8% and, using a stop watch, lower performance was measured too (3 to 4 tenths 0-60 and slower passing times too). At today's prices, my tests show there is virtually no dollar savings using regular instead of premium.

Normally, as long as the engine electronics are able to adjust to keep the engine from knocking your engine will not be damaged using regular. Because the car will feel about the same you probably will not notice the lower performance.

Thanks! I guess I'll stick with premium.

I have a PT GT with a steering squeak also. It seems to come and go with temp. I took it to the dealer and they told me it would be more trouble then I would want to deal with to try to find it. What’s that supposed to mean? Does anybody know what the cause is.

Don't you love it when the dealer seems to ignore a problem? The noise in mine would only happen after everything was warmed up and the car had been driven a while. Once warmed up I could demonstrate the noise when the steering wheel was turned without the car being driven (but with the engine running). The problem surfaced at 5000 miles. The dealer thought it was the 'clock spring' under the steering wheel but the noise remained after that was replaced. They called DC and DC said to replace the steering rack, which took care of the problem. A side benefit was the dealer also installed a camber adjusting kit so they could properly align the front wheels.

The car is approaching 3 years old and this has been the only repair. Still a blast to drive and tight as day one.

Love the Pt Crusier Turbo 2003 by davef3
May 01, 2005 (10:10 pm)
I bought a used Pt Crusier Turbo. I love the car great ride nice tight suspension and great to drive. This is a very cool car midnight blue with the shinney crome wheels. The gas mileage has me a little worried seems really bad. I drive to my trailer every weekend, it is about sixty five miles I am sure that would take half tank of gas. Is there anyway to make it better or is there some kind of kit any how any info would be great.
Thanks P.T people.

I beleive there was a TSB issued to the dealerships about this problem, it is associated to a poor connection on the alternators ground (-) circutry.
