Hi gaguy1- Thanks for sending me the email. I've forwarded it onto our management for clarification. The wording is a little unclear, imo, and I apologize for the confusion this has caused.
One thing I want to point out is that the email you sent me is from Edmunds Future Vehicle staff (Feedback Form response), which leaves me to think they are referring to a new (future) PT Cruiser trim line that was originally planned for 2003. Just curious, what your question to them was?
Another thing I notice, is they refer you to the Future Vehicles section to see other future models. Also, if you look in our Future Vehicles section, you'll see information about the 2004 PT Cruiser Convertible.
I'll get back to everyone here if/when I hear anything more. In the meantime, I guess we all know that 2003 PT Cruiser information is currently listed in Edunds New Vehicle Pricing Guide. And 2003 models can also be seen/ordered at the Chrysler website.
Once again, sorry for the confusion this has caused.

Just got my "sway bar" installed on my GT. As I recall, it said "rear sway bar" on the window sticker. I informed them the morning after I took delivery of it and the sales rep added it to the to-do list. That was Oct 24. It is now Jan 14. It took that long to get one from Chrysler. The receipt I received indicated $148 including installation. I have a good relationship with the service manager (from my traded-in 2002 PT limited paint complication). If you are not getting satisfaction with the sales person at the counter, don't hesitate ask to speak with the Service Manager. My was real helpful.

Glad you got the rear sway bar.
I wonder why it took so long? I had mine installed within 48 hours of telling my dealer about the omission. I wonder if there was a big run of people coming in for the sway bar that caused your dealer to have to wait so long to get one in?
My dealer says he can get any part from Chrysler within 36 hours.
Can't say enough good about my dealer's service dept. They've been very responsive to my requests. Of course, the only things I've done is have the oil changed and the rear sway installed.
fndly...my MPG has dropped due to the reformulated "winter" gas here in the mid-west. This summer I was getting high teens to mid 20s MPG. It's dropped to mid teens/low 20s this winter.
I was worried about the "fat" tires in snow. There have been snow covered streets in my burg over the last two weeks. The car does just fine in the "white stuff". Gotta love traction control!

A dealer here has a GT for $19,000 in the paper. I guess the bloom is off the rose as they say.

Looks like it. Similar prices around here a few weeks ago. I didn't expect that much discount so soon though. Maybe at the end of the model year, but not now. Considering dealers were discounting significantly when the GT first came out about six months ago even bigger discounts during the slow winter months would be expected.

Nice article about the PT GT in the February 3 issue of AutoWeek magazine (pages 20-21). They mention a $2500 rebate from January 7 through February 28.

Does anybody know if the new PT Cruiser 2 door convertible will be replacing the current 4 door model when the 2004 vehicles come out later this year? I am trying to make up my mind what I want to buy. Thanks

Have others here tried both the Manual and Automatic GT? If so, please share your impressions of performance and mileage. Thanks

I'll be picking it up on Saturday, and hopefully the weather will be good. Tomorrow here in NNJ it's supposed to snow!
