What became more of an issue for me was that I had a hard time getting acceptable trade in value for my car so you may want to bring that TL to several Acura and non-Acura dealerships to get the approximate trade in value (KBB is virtually no help btw.) and ideally on paper too. Depending on how old the vehicle is, they may wholesale it or sell it on the lot, you'll get the best price for it typically if they are selling it on the lot, at least it certainly did for me. The 4 dealers that were planning on wholesaling my 2006 S40 were only going to give me 8-10k for it (which btw, was 4-5k less than KBB at good condition when I thought mine was excellent) but where I ended up getting my MDX, they were planning on selling it there and gave me 12k which by the time I bought the MDX was actual KBB. Work the MDX and the trade in separately unless you know the NET you are ok with (Your desired selling price of the MDX minus your desired trade in value of the TL). Here in California we don't have sales tax breaks for trade-in (at least I don't think we do!) so its a relatively easy calculation but if you live in a state where you do, that should be factored in. Good luck!

Having said that back in sept I bought 08 MDX with tech and power tailgate for 35746 + TTL (38.8K OTD). I test drove the car couple of times at the local dealer in in San Diego, CA. When I was ready to buy the car I sent emails from the dealers website to all dealers within 200 miles. Acura of mission Vejio (70 miles) came back with the above quote. I contacted local dealer and told him that I am willing to give him 35746 + 500 = 36246 +TTL for all his time and for my time to not drive 70 miles each way. After three days of thinking and back and forth bickering about prices local dealer said he cannot do it... This is what probably happened... 1) Local dealer has very high overhead 2) San Diego has less competition compare to orange county & south LA 3) Large volume dealers are more willing to go into holdback. After my deal was done my salesman did say that "ON PAPER" we lost money on this car...but you know it as well as I do that its not the case. The dealership has made money as they are paying for the showroom/salaries etc. So may be your local dealer has high overheads etc. Look at cars direct.com and if you are within 500 to 1000 of carsdirect price I will buy it....

| I read on vtec.com there will be minor model changes on the MDX when the 2010's come out in August. Does anyone have any specific details? I'm curious if the PTG will be available on the base model. If I know what specifically is changing I may wait until this summer to purchase an MDX. | |

Anyone here from the Mpls area who has recently bought a 2009 MDX? Dealer is trying to tell me that sale prices here are higher than out East or on the West Coast. Says they cannot go as low as prices posted here for New Jersey and Boston. Thank you! |

I'm in the Seattle area And today got a quote for MDX w/Tech $45,600MSRP and $42,903 sale price, not including $2000 cash to dealer $40,903 including $2000 cash to dealer offer and, I assume but didn't ask, delivery included How's that?

Replying to: jdl300 (Jan 29, 2009 2:21 pm) 2009 MDX w/tech: 40,300 plus TTL (This takes into account the $2,000 back from Acura) We also were going to add towing pkg. roof rails, and all-weather mats. Those came to another $1900 and they were going to charge us $1533 for them. So with the accessories our total would come to $41,833. We offered them $40k for everything and they would not take it, did not even counter with another offer. Told me that the economy in Mpls. is not like the East Coast. This deal would have to be closed yet this month. Dealer told us that incentives from Acura for February are not as much.
