Enforcer,
What do u think about Oakland Acura. I spoke to a lady name Raquel who says she can beat Edmunds recommended prices. I'm looking for an 09 tech and seems like the going price is 45K OTD.

That seems quite high, you are in SF Bay area so before TTL, it looks like they are offerring an 09 Tech at 41k to get it OTD at 45k? Mid December when I emailed some dealerships about the 08s, Serramonte didn't have any 08s so they countered with an 09 Tech for 39300. I'm sure I could have haggled them down even more and in fact I remember reading someone on this forum was able to get Los Gatos to go down to 38500 or somewhere around there. I didn't want an 09 since other dealership still had some 08 inventory and I didn't need powerliftgate.

My tactic in getting my price was simply emailing several dealerships and saying that I had been reading in several forums people were getting 08 MDX techs for 35.5k and to see if they could do that price. 2 of my initial 4 said they could so I had that in writing and even though it didn't work out with those initial dealerships, I was still able to take that quote a month later to Pleasanton who then offerred me the 08 tech at $100 more and since they gave me $2000 more for my trade in than any other dealership (or private seller for that matter), I took it.

If you really like Oakland for their service (and I really liked them but they didn't have new 08 techs when I was there last month), then email competitive Acuras with a price you want to pay, back it up with relatively verifiable claims (edmund forums, acuramdx.org forums, etc.) and when they say yes, bring that quote to Raquel for a chance to beat or meet. Good luck!

Just wanted to thank everyone who posts here.....this forum saved me a good bit of money w/ my 09 base.

I probably could have saved another $500 if I had waited another couple weeks, since they are now offering the cash incentive....unfortunatley I couldn't wait.

Submit your prices paid at realcartips.com

Thanks again and Good Luck!

If you call Tim at Hondacuraworld, his prices on extended warranties are the same as Bernardi. The prices on the website are a little higher, but there is a notation on the front page to call. He's a really helpful and nice guy.

I would check with Los gatos, i was able to close a deal at 38.3k for 09 tech, before TTL, around 41k out the door at the end of december. I also got the .9% financing, and charged 2.5k on the credit card for pts...every little bit counts .
Good luck.

Are these warranties from Bernardi's and HondAcuraWorld perfectly fine to use at any dealership? I just want to make sure before I pull the trigger on one of them. My current car does not have an extended warranty, which I regret, so for the MDX, I definitely want to purchase one for it.

It's a AcuraCare warranty good at any Acura dealership. I had an 05 mdx and the battery died - the extended warranty included roadside assistance, too. Tim at hondacuraworld.com filled out the paper work for me when I traded my 05 and faxed it to me so I could get my prorated refund. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Note that on the warranties, the $0 deductible warranty costs $100 more than the $100 deductible warranty. I can't figure out why anyone would want a $100 deductible warranty, as you are worse off if you use it two times.

Make sure you call or e-mail Tim for the accurate prices.

Any good deals in Florida/Georgia? by kgolby

Test drove a '09 MDX and absolutely love it!! Of course, I sat down afterwards and got an initial quote of $48K w/ tech and entertainment package (includes TTL). No thanks!! Guess they don't realize how many of us educate ourselves on Edmund's.

Looked online at a dealership in Sarasota that still has quite a few new '08 MDX's. Also noticed the $4000 cash to dealer incentive Edmund's has listed. With this incentive are you able to reduce the negotiated price another $4K?

Also, if anyone has any experience w/ good deals in Florida please let me know. I'm willing to drive just about anywhere in FL or even GA to get a good deal.

You should factor in the $4000 when negotiating, not subtract it from the negotiated price, good luck!
