Hi,

I am in Houston too. Did you get 2k incentive on top of the 35.5k sale price? So which actually makes your purchase cost down to 33.5k. Thanks

the dude that sold me my 08 Sport (Acura of Boston) sent an email today with regards to the 2009 pricing:

2009 MDX Base MSRP $41,550 Invoice $38,080 SELLING PRICE $34,965

Technology Package
MSRP $45,600 Invoice $41,752 SELLING PRICE $38,556

Technology package with Entertainment
MSRP $47,350 Invoice $43,339 SELLING PRICE $40,108

Sport Package with Technology
MSRP $47,700 Invoice $43,657 SELLING PRICE $40,419

Sport Package with Technology and Entertainment
MSRP $49,450 Invoice $45,244 SELLING PRICE $41,971

While the guy i dealt with last year was A+ along with his sales manager, there are 3 or 4 sales managers and their dealing style varies. This dealership has about the biggest selection in MA and they'll want to move inventory. FYI, i purchased my 08 sport for around that same price in july and while not the lowest, it's pretty decent for this time of year.

Can anyone recommend a dealer in the southeast? We only have 1 dealer here in Charlotte, NC and knowing that it is a Hendrick dealership, know that they would not be as competitive as some other markets. Thanks.

Can anyone give me an idea of what they recently paid for an 08 MDX Base or Tech in the SF Bay Area using the $4K dealer cash?

Thanks!

2009 MDX Tech/Entertainment - $39,925 destination included. Price was an internet quote...I suspect I would not be able to take advantage of the Acura finance offer at this price.

I got my 08 MDX Tech, Silver/Ebony for 35,607 w/o the accessories. Propack, running boards, side molding, side rails and installation for all added another 1800 to mix. Total OTD was 40,700. Not sure if my dealership has any more 08's but I got mine about 2 weeks ago and they traded another dealership for it, PM me if you want my sales guy. Good luck!

2008 MDX Tech in SF Bay Area by enforcer

We finally bit the bullet and bought an Acura MDX with Tech in mid-December.

Paid $36.6 + $1k for options, about $200 above invoice after subtracting $4k incentive. Also got 2.9%/60mos zero down financing. Probably should have tried to shave another $1k based on prices posted here and on real car tips but we were leaving on vacation soon and there were only 3 of the 2008s with Tech remaining on the lot. It was a tough choice between the new 2008s and a used 2006, but decided to go new as we plan to keep it until it dies and the incentives were too good to pass up (credit union was offering 5% financing).

Happy to recommend my salesperson at East Bay Acura (Pleasanton) and email me if you want to know which Bay Area dealers to AVOID! The sales manager at Pleasanton is great, as are the service staff.

P.S. Some tips:
(1) If you get Acura financing, dealer gets $300 fee on the loan origination, so consider that when calculating his profit

(2) Check the invoice closely, do not get conned into paying for MACO or other dealer advertising fees. Also skip the upfront extended warranty, they will be happy to sell it to you when your 4yrs is almost up and by that time you'll know if your car is a dog.

that's poor advice if you intend to drive this car to the end. While I agree that dealers will not even offer anything close to the best price at the point of the vehicle sale, waiting 4 years will only severely limit your warranty options (length and mileage). I learnt this the hard way and I've found them useful - little things will start going with age.....the extended warranty on my 5 year old TL has paid for itself: driver side window would not go back up automatically, fixed. side view mirror would not go down in reverse, fixed. these "minor" things, if you had to pay for them yourself, you frankly wouldn't fix if you saw the price-tag without warranty.

I absolutely agree with you on Pleasanton Acura! I went to 4 other Acura dealerships prior to them and only 1 stood out for having good service (Oakland) but they didn't have any 08s left. Two of them were very...ummm..."swarmy" is probably the polite way of voicing my concerns about their honesty and sales tactics.

I can vouch for Pleasanton's professionalism and integrity, search my other posts ("deal gouged roof") for my non-sales interaction with them.

Just curious about the extended warranty, is it more expensive to get it 4 years down the line as opposed to now? When I had my S40 and wanted to add another year to it just 2.5 years into the car, Volvo quoted me $1400 for that extra year which I'm sure wasn't as much initially.

If you are interested in an extended warranty, Tim over at HondaAcuraWorld sells genuine Honda/Acura Warranties for much less than dealer and at least from its webpage, you can purchase it before you hit 6k on the odometer.

http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AC- -MDX-EW-00&Category_Code=WARR

Bernardi Warranty has it for bit cheaper than HondAcuraWorld but their website won't let those of us in CA purchase them for whatever reasons, but I read in other forums you can just call in and they'll do it over the phone.

I was looking at 7 years 100k which comes to $1585 (Hondacuraworld), not bad, about a grand less than the dealership. I do plan on keep the car for a long time but after reading all the write-ups on extended warranties for high reliability brands such as Acura, I'm still not sure whether I should do this or get some new granite for my kitchen.....
