What is the target price for 09 MDX Base + Sports+ Entertainments
Who does it compare with RX 350? How much discount MSRP should I expect? I am from Los Angeles.
Also, performance rating from what I read is average, can anybody shares their experience. Tks.

Was quoted $38,995 + TTL from John Eagle Acura in Houston, TX. Anyone recieved something better? Anyone know the exact dealer holdback on this vehicle? Any other negotiating help would be appreciated. I need real factual numbers to negotiate with. I need some firepower! Thanks !!

Dent, $38.3 you are right there with the best numbers that have been posted. You could offer him $38,000 and if he says no, tell him you'll split it $38,150. If you want to have a little fun. Wouldn't be too worried about 250 miles, you can put that on in the first couple days. Plus he has included a couple extras.
But since it was driven off the lot, I would recommend really checking over the body and making sure all the paint is original and it hasn't had a panel or door repainted due to an fender bender. An easy way to tell is to look for swirells in the paint, that comes from a buffer.

I am planning to purchase an 08 MDX w/Tech and Ent. There are very few of these left anywhere so it is getting hard to find one. $38,995 + TTL was my quote so far. Would it be ridiculous for me to offer the same for the 09? If so, why? I know the 09 is obviously newer, but in reality does it really matter? What would be the most driving factors behind the dealer not wanting to give me an 09 for an 08 price given that they are both brand new and exactly the same??

joryan, I may be wrong, but I don't think Acura is giving the $4,000 cash incentive on the '09's. That is money from the mfg. to the dealer. If they aren't then, there should be at least a 4K difference in the bottom line.

Thanks mdxrrrrr for your advice I will definatley do a thorough exam of the vehicle By the way .9% 36 months and 2.9% 60 months are now available on 2009 MDX's..still $5000 difference after tax between 08's and 09's

Thanks jstbghtmdx for this summary. Thanks everyone here for your message.

I learnt the 0.9% financing on 2008 MDX (ends 12/1) and the price on the market from this thread.
Jumped in for a Tech model for below $36,000 last Saturday. I started with the initial price from $35,500 at home (talking over the phone) as jstbghtmdx posted here. Dealer got back with a price between $35,500 and $36,000. Then I took it.

I'm in the San Francisco bay area.
There are not too many 2008 model left in south bay. But there are still some in the surrounding area as not far as to Sacramento area. -- I didn't go that far but e-mailed them.

I do not post the specific dealer here. -- I think you may get a good deal from any dealer if they still have one in the lot.

One more point: do not pay the destination charge. It's included already.
Good luck and keep posting!

You are right petert. I was wondering why the dealer quoted a higher msrp as compared to edmunds, and i did the math, and $760 was the difference. it was the destination the dealer included in the price. I was quoted a particular price + an additional $760. he tried to get me, but didn't!!
