(The items the dealers try to include in your purchase price at full list price, plus their labor) If you are a little handy most of it can easily be installed by yourself. www.acurapartssuperstore.com Before you place your order, I would recommend calculating the total cost of having it shipped to your house, and then call your local Acura parts department and see if they will meet the price. Several local dealers will do that, esp, if you are ordering more than one accessory. The parts prices aren't written in stone, they have a margin too. |

Replying to: jstbghtmdx (Nov 22, 2008 7:41 am) What we took for a drive was the following: 2008 MDX with Tech, PTG MSRP of $45,005. It is a loaner car with 7,000 miles on it. They would give 5 year 55,000 mile warranty (so warranty would go to 62,000 miles). This dealer did not have the 2008 Basic; but asked if I would be interested in this loaner. I didn't have too much time to talk numbers. However, their offer on the car was $32,800. Again, I wasn't there to haggle at that time. I told him I had other cars to look at it and I need to digest this offer first and will let him know what I think. It may be just me, but I never liked loaner cars. However, this has very low mileage with full warranty. I would be turned off it had 13k or more miles on it. As discussed in my prior post, I could probably get a brand new 2008 MDX Basic for around the same price of 32,800. So, this loaner gives me the Tech and PTG (which is about $4K more); however, it comes at the cost of having 7,000 miles. In other words, is adding the Tech and PTG an even tradeoff for the 7,000 miles? What do you all think? |

An easy way to tell is to look for swirells in the paint, that comes from a buffer.

I am planning to purchase an 08 MDX w/Tech and Ent. There are very few of these left anywhere so it is getting hard to find one. $38,995 + TTL was my quote so far. Would it be ridiculous for me to offer the same for the 09? If so, why? I know the 09 is obviously newer, but in reality does it really matter? What would be the most driving factors behind the dealer not wanting to give me an 09 for an 08 price given that they are both brand new and exactly the same??
