Which is a better deal? 2009 Lexus RX 350 FWD Navi & Premium plus: 39K + TTL (900 below invoice) Acura MDX with Tech package: 38K + TTL (2000 Below invoice); I can even push it little more. I am confused. The Lexus does not have have 3rd row seat, but higher resale value, Looks like Acura deals are much better compared to lexus. I like both cars, but this will be mainly driven by my wife Thanks for your opinion

Replying to: chd (Jul 23, 2008 7:23 am) It's the best time now to buy MDX as nobody is buying and there are plenty in dealer's lot with 1 month away before the new year model arrive. |

Hi everyone, I just like to say thank you to everyone. I would never had gotten my price if it was not for you guys. I just got my base MDX (black/ebony- what I wanted) for $33,700. Called other dealers but no one could beat it. The best other dealers can do was match. So I got my original dealer to throw in roof racks installed for $187 ( half price) and wheel locks for free (all this was done over the internet). I had crossbars (237) and chrome side step (850) installed at dealer cost (they would not budge and I did not want to waste any more time haggling in person). OTD was $38,423. Tax in the Bay Area, CA is very high. I hope that this will help people when they go to negotiate or plan to buy. I do love the car. I never thought I would buy this car because I wanted a pure utility car (no luxury) and did not want to spend that much (my other cars are BMW 325 coupe and Cayman S). Son was born 3 weeks ago so I needed an SUV. I actually was considering the 2009 Honda pilot EXL until some one told me I could get MDX for cheaper price. Went to every Honda dealer in Bay Area- no one want to go to much below MSRP. Best I got for 2009 Pilot EXL was 34,800 (1,000 off MSRP). MDX vs 2009 Pilot at same price would be hard to decide (although I would still have to take Acura over Honda). MDX vs 09 Pilot at a significantly cheaper price (this is a no-brainer). Next year 09 Pilot would go down to its appropriate price which is 4-5, thousand less than the base MDX. Happy hunting everyone. Take care |

I have never posted here before but this forum was helpful for me to help get the best deal on my new car. So here is my deal. I picked up a 2008 MDX Tech/Ent yesterday. The best price I was able to find was $38780. Invoice for this car is $42398 (you have to include the $715 destination). Which means with the $2500 cash back you’re looking at $39898 before you start getting into the dealers hold back. That’s $1028 into the deals hold back. This offer was from Acura of Westchester. Now I wound up picking up the car for $39050 from a dealer who was closer to me (Island Acura, very solid dealership). This dealer I had also worked with before so I felt more comfortable that there would be no funny business when I made it in to them to pick up the car. With this deal I am $848 into the holdback and $3348 below invoice. Now I wound up taking the car for $40050 (this excludes tax and all other fees its just the agreed sale price) with the 3.9% financing. (Its only $1500 cash back if you take the 1.9/36 or 3.9/60). Talking to the dealer when I picked up my car it is clear inventory on these trucks is very high and the 09s are already on the way. I would think the deals are only going to get better. Hurry to get your end of month deals Hope this helps! Good Luck |

| Haven't confirmed it in person - but I intend to... Sounds like August will be a good month to get a deal on '08s... | |

Hi, Got a price quote of $37,900 from an Acura dealer in Boston area (Mass). Wondering if you guys think it is a good deal?. (This price, I am told, includes the destination package and the only thing I need to pay would be sales tax, title, etc). Is this a good price or better deals out there?. Also when is 2009 models expected. Thanks for the help Andy

Replying to: athurai (Jul 28, 2008 7:54 am) Does this price include Power Tail gate? If yes, it is a very good deal. Be careful, when you visit them, most will add 'Doc fee' or 'dealer fee' crap. I was told by a dealer here that there may be some additional incentives in Aug from Acura. Not sure whether this will happen, but if you are prepared to play waiting game, you can get a better price, but may not get the color of your choice. Here in Atlanta, I got a price of 38K that includes PTG, Side boards, wheel nut etc. I am going to wait. |
