Then again, they may increase the dealer support to $2500 or $3000 on July 1st if the new incentives are not working. Who knows? If I was buying an MDX, I would take advantage of the $2000 discount already revealed behind door number one. I wouldn't have the stomach to pass up that sure thing $2000 to find out what is behind door number two on July 1st. After all, It just could be $0!

We shaked hand but didn't sign a thing, and we went on to the paperwork. When he was not arround, I was able to think a bit more clear and when he came back to ask me to sign, I double checked and found that the offer that we shaked hand on was for $41262, $300 more than what I wanted, I then showed him all my calculation and he had that really Sh!t face and go back and forth twice before he finally got the right numbers. I will be driving this baby for at least 10 years, and we only will use it during the weekend, so gas and unsellable vehicle doesn't bother me as much. Have you tried Carmax to sell your SUV? That's another way to get your money back. The doc fee is actually $55 after I checked the paperwork, and it's imprinted on the contract, like if it's a set thing here in Texas; they didn't have to type it. Of course I won't call, lol.

Replying to: aquaacura (May 04, 2008 3:26 pm) I have been leasing BMW's since 1993. I don't currently own an SUV. I have until the end of July to make a decision as to what to get next and whether I want to buy or lease. I must admit that 17-18 mpg on premium fuel bothers me. My situation is different from yours as it would be my one and only vehicle. I wish I could spare an MDX as a weekend toy.

Replying to: hpowders (May 04, 2008 1:41 pm) I think late sept the deals might be better, but 2K is good enough incentive for me. As they say bulls make money, Bears make money, Pigs get slaughtered I will try to shoot for 38.5 to 39K + TTL for Tech/Tailgate package in Southern California. What do you guys think. Since I keep my vehicles for a looong time short term depreciation is not a factor. There have been lot of conversation about the gas prices. If anyone is too concerned about it then just hedge your bets. Use 2K incentive to buy oil company stock.... In the end you got to live too...I believe you buy Hybrid to feel good and to do things for the environment NOT to save money. Anyway back to my question Do you think 38.5K is do able for tech/tailgate in San Diego area? Sanjay |

Replying to: hpowders (May 03, 2008 5:34 am) Thanks for the info. Can you clarify what you mean by "The $2000 incentive does not apply to the capitalized cost of leasing an MDX"? I can't negotiate below invoice then use that amount as captialized cost to base a lease off of? For instance, MDX w/Tech package (with pwr liftgate) 1. MSRP: $44,960 (includes destination charge) 2. Invoice: $40,901 (includes destination charge) 3. 2k incentive: $38,901 (includes destination charge) 4. Gross Cap Cost: $38,901 (includes destination charge) Is this logic correct? TIA.
