Replying to: hkthkt (Feb 11, 2008 10:15 am) + $715: Destination Charge = $42397: is invoice price Dealer holdback... is between dealers and manufacture.... (for acura it is 3% of MSRP) Most of the time... dealers don't want to discuss with you about that...(they have to pay rent, electric, loan interest, etc… ) unless they are so desperate to move the car out of their lots... * They can sell you at (or below) invoice and make money on higher doc fee, extended warranty, finance, accessories… FYI: Holdback: http://www.edmunds.com/advice/incentives/holdback/index.html Acura Jan sale: http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2008/02/01/076471.html

| Getting quotes from area dealers. Best so far is $40,799. Possible accessories include sport running boards ($618 installed) and body moldings ($249 installed). Also trying to get Bernardi pricing on AcuraCare 6/100/no deductible $1055. Anyone in central Texas know of or have gotten better deals? | |

Replying to: kurtkbee (Feb 11, 2008 12:09 pm) The quote I got was from Open Road Acura of East Brunswick. It was an email quote, so but I can't guarantee that they will honor it when it I actually get there, but I'll let you know. |

Replying to: bugati (Feb 11, 2008 1:38 pm) Thanks for your input. I guess they are quoting me an invoice price basically. Should I be satisfied with that or do you think there is room to negotiate? I know they can always try to manipulate document fees, etc., so I figure it's best to get the lowest sale price first? Thanks

hello boys and girls -- been quoted a price of 46,055 (including destination) for sport/ent with the following accessories installed: body side moldings, roof rails and sport running boards. dealers are telling me that the color combo that i want - aspen white/parchment is a hard find. the price quoted was for a formal black/ebony. how's this deal look to you guys? thanks all for your input

Sport model: Dealers have very few sport model (b/c Acura doesn't make them a lot ?... or b/c not a lot people buy it ?.. or both..?.)... => Supply is limited… so that probably explains for… “hard to find” 3. NJ Luxury tax: [Unconfirmed Info] I read from somewhere… someone said that.... for NJ… when buying a car... if the purchase price is over 45K.... you have to pay extra luxury tax? If so... purchase accessories separate…to save some $ from the lux tax… You should check with the dealer?

Replying to: bugati (Feb 12, 2008 9:44 am) thanks for the feedback. i wasn't jumping out and down when i got this price quoted to me either. i was shooting for 45,300. invoice on the sport/ent being 44,302, i factored in 1000 for the accessories. if i work the dealer i'm guessing i can get them to drop it down a couple hundred to get more in line with the price i want to pay. but again, the color combo might be the deal breaker. thanks again for your input |

Replying to: hkthkt (Feb 12, 2008 6:28 am) Present: 2008 is the second year model of the new generation... => invoice price.... I think is a pretty good deal.... As of 02/12/2008... Acura doesn't have any rebate or incentive for MDX.... “room to negotiate more” ... It means you are trying to get into the dealer’s "holdback kingdom"… To avoid inflated doc fee and mystery fees => ask for the OTD quote |
