| I am buying 2004/2005 Acura MDX and living in North Carolina. Some of my friends said that buying MDX in Texas and Florida will be cheap, is it true, if yes any idea how much I can save? | |

I purchased my MDX from Island Acura, Wantagh, NY; the price was $400.00 over invoice Total price was $40,800.00 plus tax. I purchased in early December. The car has plenty of power and excellent handling. If you call Island Acura deal with James. He is upfront and reliable and honest. I would definitely buy another car from him. The gas mileage is about 14.5 straight city, city/freeway 17. I haven’t had the car on a straight freeway trip yet I am using premium fuel and recommend it. |

I am in look out to buy a 2008 MDX with Tech and Entertainement pkg in next week or 2 Couple of things: A) Please advise if its ok to go upto $400-$500 above invoice price or that can be negotiated harder especially with the economy slowing down a bit. Currently the quotes I got (via email) are ~1300 over the Invoice price. B) wanted to share info abt the feedback I have on sport pkg from talking to 3 dealers::: was surprised to hear from all that the spork pkg is not going that well and hence none of them have them in their lots.. I asked for reasons and the consistent feedback was that most of the customers are thinking hard to spend an extra 2K for sport suspension which comes to real use when the vehicle is pushed harder than the normal.... this is great for sporty drivers!! Looking forward for comments on pricing and if "documentation" fee is something that can be negotiated as that seemed pretty high ~$600.. |

Just bought a black on black MDX at Ball Acura at the Mile of Cars in South San Diego. I wanted an 07, b/c it was the same car, but selling for $35,000 according to Edmunds, but there weren't any left in SoCal. Go for an 07 if you can find one. The only difference is the rear-view mirror. This was close to the best deal I could find in Southern California. It has a couple of add ons - mud guards and wheel locks - they call it a "protection package". I call it bullshit profit. But that's the game. Before going to the dealership I specifically asked whether there were any fees other than TTL, and dealer replied "no" in an email. As we were going through the paperwork, they itemized a $55 Documentation fee in the sales contract. I pulled out my email, and had them lower the car price by $55. (It's principle, and half a tank of gas Overall I'm excited, couldn't even sleep last night. It's like being a kid again. I guess that's why we do it - keep buying toys- ah, consumerism. It was a stress free experience, probably b/c I knew the price going in, and had sold my car beforehand, instead of trading it in. BTW - try selling your car first, it makes all the difference. We saved 50% of the value. Dealers wanted to give us $5-6K for a 2002 Jeep - we sold it on craigslist.org for $8750 - private party retail value on KBB. It took 2 weeks, and one mechanic inspection. Well worth the leg work - hell, that's probably my bonus after taxes - for which I have to work all year. We decided against the NAV - I figure for the same money I can put a 50" Pioneer HD plasma in my master bedroom, instead of a 7" screen in my car. Overall, the MDX is great value for the money. I you add all the standard features on an MDX to a Highlander or Murano, you are in the same price range, and still some features are unavailable - i.e. HID lamps and memory seats on the highlander, 7 passenger on the Murano.

I have just purchased a Black 05 MDX Touring w Nav. with 32,000 miles on it. During the negotiations, I had the dealer add a chrome side step and rear spoiler. At this time, I am considering a few other additions and want to know if I am getting reasonable pricing. Side Body Moldings: 309.00 Tow Package including steering/trans cooling systems: 989.00 Finally, has anyone heard or or used Zurik for an extended warranty. The MDX was purchased at an Acura dealer and is Certified. I am ok with spending a few dollars for peace of mind through 7 Years/100,000 miles. The price quoted is $1053.00 for a comprehensive coverage that covers what the 7/100 Acura powertrain does not. Thanks |

I just purchased a 08 MDX with the Sport & Entertainment packages. The purchase price is $45k. This does not include add-ons (such as roof rails, side moldings, etc). I will be jumping off the leasing merry-go-round and will try to keep the MDX for the next 5-7 years. I may have been able to get another $200 off but I thought that it was fair enough for both sides. Regards, NHman
