Replying to: dj1809 (Aug 31, 2007 12:20 pm) After a couple of back and forths on the phone over two days, settled at $42,700. Price include their standard already installed accessories of bodyside moldings, wheel locks, tinted front rollups, cargo tray, and "theft guard" (VIN etched in windows). Figured that even without the theft guard and at Tim's prices for accessories plus tint (worth minimum $450-500) paid no more than a couple of hundred over invoice. Best deal I could find in Texas at the time. Vehicle tax in TX is 6.2% Did end up paying $50 doc fee and a $100 dealer inventory tax (that I was lead to believe was a required county tax and should have refused), but all in all was happy with the deal. At last check they still had the other two left. Good luck! |

I bought my 2007 MDX with Technology Package for $40,250 in March (ex tax and doc fee) which is $147 above invoice. Invoice is always what you want to work from, not retail. First, I prefer negotiating via email. When you see a salesperson in person there is more pressure. What I typically do is negotiate with 2 dealers, then when I get the lowest price, I tell the competing dealer what that price was and they always beat it. In my case, the dealer asked me to prove that I got the price and I just forwarded them the email with the quote and they beat it by $100. Then I go to the dealer and sign the deal. My first and only visits are to sign the paperwork and pick up the car. I also purchase certain accessories elsewhere. In my case, I bought OEM floor mats on Ebay from a dealer who was selling them new at invoice. I do this because when you get a price as low as I did, the dealer always looks to try to make money elsewhere like through other dealer installed options or warranties which I want no part of. I told my salesperson that I didn't want the Business Manager to try to sell me anything when I sat with him to sign the documents. They complied. I bought my Acura through Park Ave Acura in Maywood NJ if anyone is interested. They would rather do a deal for little profit than no profit. Now that the 2008's are out, they would do a similar deal. |

| Could you provide your email contact at Park Ave Acura? It's not the closest dealer, but it's within 30 miles. Thanks | |

Here's what the Acura book on 2008 says: "What's new for 2008: Interior Bluetooth Handsfree Link standard on all vehicles. Automatic dimming rearview mirror Driver's seat memory settings position standard on all settings. Acura personalized settings standard on all models. Multi-Information Display (MID) standard on all models. New Color Polished Metal Metallic Carbon Grey Pearl is no longer available." That's it...nothing about design changes. |
