Buerkley Acura responded quickly and I am seeing them this weekend. Bloomington Acura took a day to respond and asked me a question. I replied that I am waiting for a response for more than a day. I have also contacted Acura dealer in White Bear Lake. Just to compare the price I contacted the Acura dealer in Palantine, IL. They called me back ASAP. They had the car in the requested color. They quoted me a price of $42995 and I was able to lower the price to $42800 plus doc fee of $58 and sticker fee of $10. This price seems OK but the price of accessories seemed high to me. They have offerred 10% discount on the price of accessories. For example wood shift knob installed was quoted at $195. Auto Day/Night mirror at $430 Towing package at $1092 Body side molding at $399 Wheel locks $143 Cargo Liner $259 How does the base price of Acura Tech/Ent sound? How can I save money on accessories? Can I buy them from HondaAcuraWorld.com and have Acura dealership install them?   Since I don't have any price quote from the MN dealers I have no idea if they will be able to come close to this price.   Thanks for your responses. Yes, you can buy the accessories from Hondacuraworld.com and have a dealer install them for you. I did that with my side moldings.   Some items you can install yourself such as cargo liner and shift knob (I'm sure the 2007's are the same as my 2006 where the knob literally twists on and off)   Having bought two MDX's in the Chicagoland area, I can say Arlington Acura in Palatine has always had overinflated prices for their accessories and installation prices.

Hey guys   Just got my metallic blue MDX with sports and entertainment for 45069$ including everything.   Its brand new car right from the factory and had only 7 miles on it.   I'm loving this car - its just AWESOME. The dealer was also very helpful and spent more than 1 hour explaining everything.   GREAT CAR - GREAT DEALER

I found out that the Acura Web prices for the accessories are almost always lower than what the dealer, for example, at Palatine IL quoted me. Example, Mirror + installation should be around $300 (if I recall correctly) vs the $430 you were quoted. Do the same for all others on your list. This way, at least, you are not paying over-inflated prices on top of the MSRP. The web page will also give you a guage of how fair you are being treated. I asked him to give me his best price for Tech + Entertainment MDX. He came back with a price of $43300. He told me that this is only a few hundred dollars over invoice. I showed him a consumer report pricing report that showed that his price including holdbacks is $41300. He was unwilling to lower the price. I told him that I will pay him $42800 and I want 10% discount on all the accessories. I haven't heard back from him yet. I have received an email from White Bear Acura telling me that they are giving a discount of $3000 to $3500 on all 2007 Acura MDX's. This is far cry from my 2001 Acurd MDX buying experience when I waited for 6 months and paid full price.   What are the risks of buying cars from out of town? I have never done this. When I buy from local car dealers and I go there for service they give me a free rental car to get back to work. I was wondering if they will provide worse service if the know I didn't buy the car from them. Will they give me free loaner cars? We live in Washington DC, and we purchased the MDX from an Acura dealer in Columbus, Ohio. Go back to post #564 in this forum, where I explain the entire deal. Basically, an out of town purchase makes sense if it is a better deal than what you can receive locally. Only you would be able to determine that. At the time, No one in the DC area could come close to the deal we received. As far as service, you should not have any problems from your local dealer about servicing a vehicle purchased elsewhere. Remember- The service department makes money servicing vehicles. They are not(at least here in DC) concerned about where it was purchased. If you get a job transfer to another state, you are going to go to the Acura dealer near your new home to get it serviced.   Finally a suggestion on accessories. Print out the accessory price list from the hondacuraworld site, take it to the dealer and ask them to match the price. If they say no, just order it from hondacuraworld, and pay the dealer to install them, or do it yourself, depending on the accessory. As long as the part is an original Acura part, the dealers will install them.   I have owned Acuras since 1990, and if it is a part that I need to replace, but have some time( ex. the muffler) I will order it online, and then take it to the dealer to install.

Host, I appreciate your attempt to referee but I don't think the dialog was in nasty intent between cvista and myself. A matter of some good banter is all. thank you nonetheless. BTW. For the record: I did use all the tools afforded to me via GM,Toyota, Honda, Acura, VW, BMW and Audi, The only one's I tested for what it was I needed to fit my concerns. I am truly grateful that we have in our procession the selections that I have mentioned and all the others that people have at their disposal. newkidontheblock.. For your consideration and any others in the market for the MDX: I purchased the MDX Sport invoiced $42004.00.. I paid 200 over and got the following at cost as well. Roof Rack (532.00), Tow pkg (912.00), body side molding (324.00), Sport running boards (526.00), and cargo tray (125.00). This car had just come off the transporter and it was the very one that I had wanted. So stick to your guns and be prepared to hit all the dealers with your needs and demands. Put'em up against the wall with a full intent to buy and the money support behind you. I used the email approach with firm but business mannered verbiage. Indicated that I had been in contact with others and would like their reply to your offer. BTW, I offered mine invoice with everything else cost and my cargo tray no charge. The only thing I lost was the tray cost vs no charge and the 200 over vs invoice. I also indicated that I had a viable quote from another dealer once I had my guns loaded. I walked in knowing exactly what I could get. I asked for yet even more and still got it. If this helps... always speak in terms and relations to invoice and not price. SH-AWD itself is worth a lot of money and peace of mind. Believe me. I have been looking for 4 months and have never found one worth spending 40K except MDX. I will have mine soon.

I think I should have bargained for the accessories too.
