#4701 of 13299 Atlanta Buying Experience
May 27, 2007 (4:30 am)
My husband and I purchased a 2007 Black with Parchment MDX with Tech package on Friday from Ed Voyles Acura. BEST sales experience we have had....and we should know...We have been "shopping" around for the last month to replace both our cars, a sedan and a SUV. During our shopping experiences all over northern Atlanta and the suburbs, we experienced an array of pushy and unprofessional sales people...one even told me that my trade-in (2002 Volvo S60) was falling apart---the plastic around the door handle was peeling. (That's how to get a sale done.) We visited several dealerships from Infiniti to Toyota to Nissan and many others. And I must say that Ed Voyles offered the best deal with the best sales experience. While we were at the dealership picking up the car, two different customers in the service department raved about their experience with Ed Voyles and our sales person. For those in Atlanta (or even outside Atlanta), I would highly recommend them along with our sales person. I can't share any names but for those interested check out their website for new car pricing and you will experience the great service I did. A great experience is worth mentioning especially after my terrible experiences from other dealers (who still continue to call me).

Does anyone know of a sales guy in Sunnyvale Acura I can talk to? I got a quote for a Sport/Ent from the Internet guy for Invoice + 2K which I felt was a little too much.
#4704 of 13299 Certified PreOwned MDX Buying Experiences

This forum has been very helpful while car shopping.
I have a couple of questions I was hoping could get answered.
1) Has anyone bought a Certified MDX? How was the experience? Recommended?
2) How much can you negotiate on these cars?
The reason I ask is that I think I can get invoice price on a MDX / Tech for 39,2000. And they are asking 36,000 for a 2005 MDX Tech(with 21,000 miles).
#4705 of 13299 Residual Value: MDX v Hyundai Veracruz
May 27, 2007 (12:03 pm)
I am very interested in getting perspectives on residual values for the following cars. I play to pay cash and believe the MDX will be a value over a 4+-year horizon typical driving (15K per year). I have seen RV for the MDX falling to 50% levels (36 m), so a bit concerned on my theory. Have no clue of the Veracruz will hold value. Thoughts on what represents a better value?
2007 MDX Tech/Sport - $44K
2007 Hyundai Veracruz Limited - $34K

Veracrux hold value??? Seriouslty....Without any statistics to back me up, I have to believe that the RV on an Acura 36+ is much better than that of a Hyundai. Forget about that, just from a sheer performance comparison, there's no way the Veracruz is in the same league as the MDX. As far as how the MDX's value holds up compared to it's competition (XC 90, X5, Q7, maybe Benz GL) is just as good, if not better. It beats them on the front end for Value for the dollar, and I know is a better vehicle in the long run, from a realibility standpoint than the Q7 and GL. And is it really worth paying an extra 10K+ for the X5 to get the same thing??? I'm not sure how the Veracruz even can be compared. It's not in the same class. Sure, up front may be cheaper, but the fit & finish over the long haul cannot be compared. After 3 Honda products, I say that with utmost confidence.

I'm also in Atlanta and looking for 2007 MDX Sport (MSRP $46,265 including Destination). Any deal details would be greatly appreciated. Getting same story that model is hot and not coming off sticker - but then got one initial offer $1500 off MSRP. Post any details and I'll do the same.

Just got off the phone with Acura Carland. I am looking for a base model. The best price he would give is 37890 plus 499 doc fee. This brings the total to 38,089. The price seems okay for Atlanta but not as good as others (especially in the NE) are getting. Anyone in Atlanta doing better?

Well, I ended up at $42,700(excluding tax and tags)for my MDX w/ the NAV/ENT pkg and options: roof rack and side body molding. I got it for dealers invoice and the options at cost. I'm happy with the end result. We took a test ride on Sat; what a SUV. The Nav system is the best I've seen. It blows away other systems Ive seen including the one in the BMW 750.
