2.99 is unlikely. MDX sales are not good these days. That's exactly why they are selling for invoice. Milage, Gas prices close to $3 and MDX 2007 price is not helping the cause.

Of-course MDX is a great vehicle but not doing great as Honda had expected, so they might be willing to provide more rebates for dealers enabling them to go below invoice in summer.

The lowest quote that I have in hand is 400 below invoice and open-road Wayne wants to beat it. But I'm not ready to buy right now due to personal reasons. Not everyone has enough time like me.

Great deal, Lexbar.
I am in the market for the exact model. Would you kindly email me your contact's name and number? If I finalized my deal with them, please let me know if you want me to mention your name.

Thanks.

Just now got a call from the dealership and the sales person told that I am given One Free Oil Change Coupon for my First Service during the vehicle delivery.

Try to pull them for Two Free Oil Change Coupons but couldn't succeed.

Are there any other requests that I need to put in front of the dealer before I can take the delivery of the vehicle?

PVSAIG,

I think you're getting a very good deal. You're paying invoice price for the car and the accessories. I don't think it could get any better than that. The dealer must be desperate.

Shopping around my area, the current best price I get is $2500 above invoice. I may as well just buy it out-of-state and ship it here. Shipping is about $1000. I still will save $1500.

Do you have the name and email of the salesperson you bought it from? Btw, what color did you get?

Color - Black and Black - Always the best on the road.

I can, but let me ask them if they don't mind me sharing their name?

I spoke to my credit union. They will price match for 4.7 APR.
Wow that's 2% down from my original offer.

So, are we on our way to shop the vehicle now or are you still with some other thoughts?

cheapskate21: I guess you are shopping in the Dallas area, too. Keep us informed what happens to the shopping. I will send out e-mails to dealers middle of May, and plan to buy the vehicle at the end of the month (shooting for Memorial Day). If my research results are similar to yours, I might consider buying out of state and shipping it here, too.

Btw, did you try hitting the dealers in Austin and Houston? You could just fly there and drive the MDX back home if you get a good deal. Best wishes, - MS.

Areas of high demand or low supply - or just high-profit dealers .. :) by cheapskate21

msindallas: I am actually in Seattle area. I offered $1k above invoice for the car and MSRP for all accessories (about $1500 total) yesterday, but the dealer turned it down. The dealer countered my offer at 2.3k above invoice (which is $1.3k above my asking price), so I said forget it.

I only tried one dealer because it has the configuration I wanted. I will try the other 3 nearby dealers when they have the car I want. My advantage is I am not in a hurry. I am buying with cash ... Unless I get a very good deal, I would love to hold on to my $50k. On the top of that, maybe Acura will launch the 2008 version in Summer / Fall of this year (fingers crossed) .. That means some improvements over the current model, or some discount on the '07 model .. It's a win-win situation to wait, so why hurry?

In my couple months researching and monitoring, the NE states (NJ, CT, MD, etc.) buyers got the best deal. CA is reasonable too. FL, WA and Dallas seem to be what's called a "dealer's market", I guess ... If it keeps going this way, I will seriously consider buying it out-of-state and make a point to dealers around this area.

With the gas price soaring up, I don't think their sales will be improving.
