#2883 of 13267 Shopping for an '06 Touring/Nav in the S.F. Bay Area
Dec 25, 2005 (10:02 am)
I spent many months on these MDX forums back in 2000/2001 when I took delivery of an '01 Touring/Nav at Acura of Pleasanton here in the Bay Area. I bought it the day after the MDX made its debut, and while I paid MSRP for the vehicle and tons of add-ons, two weeks later all Acura dealers in Northern California were getting $2K over MSRP and had waiting lists. It's now five years later and I'm back.
Last week, my niece who lives in the Sierras, was shopping for a good dependable 4x4, and I made her an offer on my fully loaded, mint condition Touring/Nav with 45K miles on the clock she couldn't refuse, and she didn't. In an attempt to rid myself of new car fever, I'm ready to buy again. After researching and test driving the half-dozen vehicles that were on my list of possibilities, I've decided on another new ('06) Touring/Nav. But this time, I plan to purchase all the add-ons from an Internet site that sells them at significant discounts, install those that I can, and pay the dealer to install those I can't. In other words, I'm shopping for a bare bones '06 Touring Nav.
Does anyone have any idea what '06 Touring/Navs are going for here in the Bay Area? My purchase will be a cash deal.

I just read a post on the Acura MDX forum (not Edmunds) of someone who paid $1,000 below invoice for an '06 Touring w/NAVI at Los Gatos Acura. Hope this helps.
#2885 of 13267 2006 Touring MDX

Tried to find 2005 MDX as I hate the 2006 Zebra Wood. 06 Touring w/Nav is running $300 over invoice.
I am concerned since this is the last year with this body style.
How badly will trade in value go down once new model is out?

Thanks, lid. You were right. I found a silver '06 Touring w/Nav for $38,755 and will probably purchase it next week. Just to make sure I have no regrets, I plan to take in the Auto Show in San Jose on Jan. 4th to make sure nothing else on the market rings my 'new car fever' bell.
#2887 of 13267 2006 vs. 2005 MDX Touring with NAV
Dec 27, 2005 (7:53 pm)
I'm in Rhode Island and I'm looking for a 2005 MDX Touring with Nav. After contacting many of the dealers in the RI and Mass area, only one has any '05s left over. They're willing to sell it for $37,700, and I have two other dealers that will sell the '06 with the same package for $38,600.
Can anyone give me an opinion as to which way I should go? I was leaning toward the '05, but only if I could get it in the high 26k to low 27k range.
#2888 of 13267 Got a 2006 w/Touring pkg at Edmunds Invoice.

Picked up a black touring with a saddle/ebony interior last monday for $36,617 (including freight) at a Chicago suburb dealer through the internet manager. They basically quoted me edmunds invoice price and stuck to it.
Wanted NAV just for the back-up camera...decided that was too steep a price to pay. I didn't like the zebra pattern wood trim, but hated the very fake cherry burl from the prior years. However, with the new two tone dash, the new trim color has actually has grown on me very quickly.

Wow. That is below invoice! I would buy it for that price!

Congratulations, Bill, you were one of the early buyers.
Nice gift to your niece!

They should go down to around $36.5 for the '05 w/Nav. That's what I paid. $2K more for an '06 is your call. I would still buy the '05. I believe what you really meant was "high $36K to low $37K?"
