Currently shopping around for a 2012 MDX w/ Tech and Ent pkg. I've been offered 43500 over the phone. Sticker price currently is 49,500 at dealership. I have a trade in Lexus 400h (06), but I am underwater about $5000 on it. Was hoping to go in and ask for an OTD price of 44K. Is this unreasonable? They've basically just deducted the depriciation value of the vehicle. I feel like I have some room to negotiate, but not sure how much. Any help is appreciated. First time negotiating a new car.

If that price includes destination, it is a great price.

Can someone who has recently purchased a 2012 MDX + Tech Pkg in Houston or Dallas, share they buying experience and price paid?
I need to purchase a car in the next 2 weeks, so would appreciate any guidance.
I'd like to know the out of door price and any financing options (e.g. 0% APR or 0.9% APR)
Thanks,

I have reached out to several dealers in both the Dallas and Houston area about 12 MDX Techs. They are very hard to come by. Dallas area dealers are pretty much out of stock of new (with exception to some strange color combos). Found a couple Austin/Houston dealers with a few but best price I received was $41k before fees. Judging from the posts on here back in August people were getting more like $39k.
Figure a couple hundred bucks for fees then add tax which will vary for you to get 'out the door' price. I believe you can do 0.9% for up to 60 months through Acura.

Thanks for the quick reply 'baksdak'.
$40K is the magic number for me. Maybe I need downsize to an RDX.

2 very different cars. Test drive the RDX before you buy please. You don't want to regret your decision or justify it later. Does it have to be Acura? Think outside the box. Test drive other suv and crossovers before you decide on one.

I don't see any 2013's on this stream, so I thought I'd share.
Got my MDX with Advanced and Entertainment packages this weekend. $49,500. 0% financing for 36 months. I'm in NJ.
Happy car buying!

Learned much from this forum so felt I should post my results (as everyone should to help the community).
New 2012 w/ Tech package, 40,828 OTD (no sales tax applies, I live in excise tax state where those taxes get collected with tag). Local dealer in Tulsa would not match price
. For some reason they claim service car rentals is the main reason. I could rent 20 service cars, at least, for the price difference, very disappointed in the local team, try to support them where I can but not at 4 digit price delta.
Audi has 0.9% financing through the end of December (I think).

Their unwillingness to match market pricing has resulted in your local Tulsa dealer has the highest inventories of 2012 MDX's I've come across lately.
Where did you end up buying?
