#10861 of 13292 2008 Base MDX used price with trade-in, in Chicago
Jan 04, 2011 (9:45 pm)
I bought 2008 Base Acura MDX with just 29500 miles with Rosen AV7000 Dual DVD Headrest Replacement system preinstalled. It came with two wireless headsets, remote and two wireless game controllers. You can watch two separate Movies or can see same movie and even use MDX audio system for DVD sound if want to. It is CPO car and also got bumper to bumper warranty till Oct 30, 2014 or 100 K miles means 7 years or 100 k from original date of purchase.
I traded my 2010 Toyota RAV 4, Sports Model 4X2 AT with just 3300 miles on it with BC, FE, QX, RM, TC and CF options installed which are mainly backup camera, moon roof, head rails, cross bars, alloy wheels and sports appearance.
I paid 10.3K including tax, title, warranty OTD. Basically he gave 22K for my trade-in, sold his car at 30.3K and 1K for Extended warranty + tax title etc.
How is this deal?

#10866 of 13292 MDX base in NJ
Jan 07, 2011 (8:34 am)
I was getting quote during the holiday seasons for 2011 base model in norpth NJ. I got $39000 including destination from Springfield. I sent couple of email to ask for the OTD price and did not get answer. I called the guy in the email and asked if the deal still held before new year if I came in on Jan 3rd and the answer was yes. I drove about 45mins to the dealer, waited about 15mins at the front door, then one sales person came to me and told me that things changed, they couldn't sell MDX at that price. What a waste of time! So be aware, car buying definitely not a thing that I enjoy...

Buddy I had the same experience with Springfield Acura. We discussed price over the holidays went on Jan 3rd and salesman said prices are changed since its a new year .. not sure they want to sell the MDX to you ... they bid low try to get you in showroom and ask you to pay higher ... some people pay and some people walk out .. i walked out ... as per their email their prices are valid upto 5 days .. they don't keep their word.

IF I buy MDX this will be my first luxury purchase .. I bought Civic, Accord and Odyssey so love Honda Quality and craftsmanship however buying Acura nothing but removing a root canal. Never had any issue buying Honda from Joyce Honda NJ.. Great people and easy dealings however Acura salesmen are just 180 degree. As per me they are liars, deceivers and in some case downright racist.
1.9% and 0.9% is still valid up to Feb 28 2011 so that keeps me going again however looked at Lexus and no one sell Lexus base model and they all want $5,000 more than invoice .. are you crazy in this economy? How many people buying Lexus? and if they do after 2010 fiasco .. why bother ? So I am back in Acura camp and trying to find a honest (?) salesman who could keep his word for the price he quoted. I want costco experience I buy, I pay and I get out .. (less than 5 min all transaction) .. let me keep dreaming when you buying a MDX!

Same here. I was confused between RX 350, MDX or RDX. Now I ruled out RX 350 with the only reason that every dealer wants $4000+ options installed. I asked base model and they said, it's 4 month wait. What ? 3 out of 4 dealers didn't even reply to my internet quote request. They said, come to the dealership and we will give you the best price. When I insisted online that give me the internet price they didn't even bother to reply. I expected that since RX350 is doing this bad, they will be better customer oriented than before. But, I am wrong.
Now, I am not sure whether I should go for MDX or RDX. I will have a kid may be in 1 year so, not sure whether I need 7 seater or not. RDX has all the luxury options (moonroof, rearview mirror, bluetooth, heated seats) in their standard price while for MDX I have to pay extra for some. At the same time RDX is not as comfy ride as MDX, it's little firm. So, confused between two.
