This will be my last post on this topic since I am pretty sure that no matter what I say you will not believe...

There are other factors involved in new car purchases that go beyond invoice and published incentives. Dealers get other incentives that are not known to the public through sites like Edmunds. The car I bought yesterday had just been delivered and had not even been prepped. It still had all the plastic on it when I showed up in the morning yesterday, so I doubt it had been in an accident. Only 42 miles when I picked it up. The car came from their Boston lot which is about 32 miles away and all new cars come with 8-12 miles on them.

As for your MA economy comment, I don't think it is that as much as it is the fact that there are over 185 G37X's in stock among the 6 or so dealerships in my immediate area (About 45 mile radius). Almost every dealer in the area has been offering 6K off MSRP for the past month. So getting an extra $700 off on a fully loaded model is not that far off especially if the dealer has some volume incentive number they are trying to get for the month. Their willingness to give up some of the holdback could also have been a factor.

Littlejoe613, I am sorry you got such a crappy deal on the car you bought in whatever state you live in. If it makes you feel better to think I am lying instead of the truth that someone did their research and got a much better deal than you, that is fine. I would be totally bummed out if I were you too. You can also go back and look at some of my prior posts to see that I have been following this board for the past month or so. I am not even sure why I am wasting my Saturday responding to you but I feel like this may help the guy I responded to this morning who lives in the area and I have learned a lot from others in this forum.

Like I said in my original post this morning, I am looking for someone with an Amex code to partner with and posted my email address.

Now I am going to go for a ride in my new car.

Thanks everyone for your help

The AMEX program is a referral program from Infiniti not a "hook up with some one you dont even know program" after the fact. It may be possible to get the gift cards by cheating but is it honest? Says alot about what Im talking about.

o.k. I see. I was thinking that you can get your true cost - incentive or rebate but you cannot. If you read their notes, the true cost is the factory invoice - all incentives and a small holdback.

Also Where are these add'l bonuses published. Do you know the get this money without a doubt? Are you stating facts? If you know for sure let us know so we can take advantage of your superior negotiating skills. Going to a dealer and saying" I know you get other bonus money because this dude on an edmunds blog said so " Isnt going to help him. It will just make him look foolish. Go ahead and tell the truth you probably paid about a grand more which would be invoice. I didnt buy an AWD that may be the difference. (wouldnt want one) There could be cash available to move any AWD since most buying this type of car wouldnt want AWD. I'm buying my next Infiniti in MA where the dealers are stupid. Of course if they sell them all at those prices dealhunter5 will have to get his service done on NY when his local dealer closes. snicker.

Littlejoe, if you could stop calling people liars long enough to think instead of react you might learn something. Dealers(just about all) have been selling cars at invoice or invoice plus $100-200 for years for corporate clients, members of clubs, buying serices like Costco etc. Believe me they are making more than that little bit above invoice on that new car sale. In addition, it is well known that dealers make more money off the back shop, parts and used cars than they do off new cars since the dawn of the internet.

Some dealers will actually lose money on a new car to get it out of their inventory. I bought a brand new Mazda6 at about $2800 below invoice. There was a $1500 rebate on the car. Where did the other $1300 come from??? The dealer ate it or he had some other kind of bonus he earned. We aren't privy to all the kickbacks. volume rewards, etc that dealers are eligible for. That's life. Do you know what everything else you buy costs the retailer exactly?

Some Do Get Better Deals by jonas4

I'm in the market for a new G37x Sedan, so I have been reading this forum for the last couple of weeks. I too was surprised by the " deal" that Dealhunter5 told us about. But then I checked out the MA dealer (Herb Chalmers Infiniti) site, and they have 74 G37x Sedans. That's twice as many as in my entire state (MI) . With that many cars, so late in the model year, he may very well be selling below invoice less $2500. Me, I'm waiting until after 11/2 to see if Infiniti puts anymore money on the table for sedans. It seems like there are as many 2009 sedans as coupes out there, so I'm hoping infiniti will put out the same kind of money they have on the coupes. I'm guessing I won't do much better than invoice less any infiniti cash the dealer has to work with. I'm not willing to fly to MA even for a great deal!
