Out of oil? Gas? Engine Oil? You must be talking about Engine Oil. No car "uses up" engine oil that I know - it just gets dirty over time. If you had a leak and it drained out that would be another story. In that case you would see oil leakage and the car would definitely give low oil pressure warning. I am sorry, but so many things doesn't make sense in your post.

Well, there's always a lemon with any manufacturer.

However, your story doesn't make sense. If the car was only 4 months old, they couldn't blame you for that. How many miles did you put in those 4 months, 10K?

I have owned 3 Infinitis so far and I've never had an issue w/ oil. I usually drive at most 800 miles/month (even less in the summer), so, I have my oil changed every 4-5 months. Sometimes, the dealer even tells me to wait another month because I don't have enough mileage, like only 3K since my last oil change.

there have been threads written about the Gs oil consumption in some of the G forums. i forget the complaint, but it's true the G will go through oil quickly, especially in the break-in period. that's why it's important to follow the maintenance schedule - oil change at 3700 miles. with the G, you must do oil changes at every 3700 miles or so. in my dealership, the first oil change is free (and i got two additional free oil changes). they use ester oil which is good for our engines.

Hey all,

I just purchased a 2009 G37 Journey Sedan with the Premium Package for 32500

Can someone please explain the AMEX gift card program for me? I understand that I need to team up with another buyer to receive the gift card.

Thanks in advance!

Put in your own brand of oil. See what happens. People kill me when the want an engine that produces 300+ horsepower but want to take care of it like a VW. The previous story sounds like we have someone who wants to have all the fun of a G37 but needs to really have a Jetta to take care of. If you cant afford to take care of a car of this type you shouldnt buy one.

the BMW M3 was also notorious for burning lots of oil in the break-in period.

Sounds pretty "troll-ee" to me. Just joined the forum, blasts the car then goes on his way. No way you run the engine dry of oil without some previous clues unless you parked the car in some brush just after your oil plug popped out, then drove away unsuspecting
I've had 2 Gs, the first an 07 and put 40k on it. Changed oil every 3500 miles w/ conventional 5w30, never more than a fourth of a quart low at the change interval. I now use Mobil1 on our 09 G37, no need to spend the higher bucks on Nissan Ester Oil, just be sure to use a good full synthetic and a high quality filter and the VQ motor is about as good as they get.
Another clue to the "troll-ness" was stating they're going back to a BMW for someting more reliable. Having owned an 02 745LI I can honestly say BMW needs to stand for "Buy More Warranty". No way should you own one without a warranty, because you're going to use it several times a year, and once they get 100k on them you'll need serious disposeable income to keep them road-worthy

Hi: Would that be the same for a G-37 Coupe? In otherwords if the National Base Invoice price is $33,859, the Premium Package Invoice price is $2,770, and the Navigation Invoice price is $1,905. Then I would add all those invoice prices up minus the $2,500 plus the destination fee and TTL. Thanks, Walt
