I use Edmunds and KBB to figure if it was a fair deal or not.   I can't believe the low sales tax people have in some states. NC and VA.   CA is 9.25% - That alone would drive me away from the state. (I live in California, and begin to wonder if I should move out.)   However, borrowing from SewellGSM's line that dealers to make some profit somewhere, the State governments have to collect their tax revenue somewhere. Based on what I see, States with low sales and/or income tax usually have high property tax rates.   Just my two cents.
