In defense of the factory option, (a) it's a much bigger and more detailed screen, (b) it doesn't invite break-ins, (c) it's neatly integrated with XM traffic, and (d) it includes the awesome hard-drive music box. And, resale value should be taken into account; as navs become increasingly common in 30k+ cars (and even some below), it may be difficult to sell a car without it in a few years if that's what most buyers are expecting. But, of course, it's your call. The price quote you got sounds very good to me. I ended purchasing from Passport Infiniti in Alexandria, after cross-shopping all the area dealers (mainly because they had the only fully loaded G37xS around at the time). |

I test drove both the RWD and the AWD, and couldn't really tell the different due to the weight, so I probably wouldn't notice either way. I'm more inclined to get the AWD as well, especially for being able to drive in the rain and snow and because it'll help resale value as well. As for the NAV, you have some good points. I just started working after school and I've saved up some money for a decent down payment, so I was trying to keep my payments down by skipping the NAV, but I don't see why not if I get a good deal on it. This will be my first new car... How was your experience at Passport? They've got a good selection, but so far JBA has given me some better deals. Do they do anything extra when you bring your car in for maintenance? Recommend anyone? I haven't started blitzing everyone and 'cross-shopping' quite yet, but I think that'll happen soon. I'm going to wait until the end of the month when things get more interesting.

He told me it will be difficult to trade in the car a couple years later if it doesn't have a NAV...since then I traded in 2 cars and I don't have a problem. Personally, if I purchase a used car, I don't really care about the NAV b/c I rather spend $150-200 for a portable GPS w/ a CURRENT map. I heard that NAV only adds a couple hundreds $ to the car value when you trade in.

Hello. This forum is great. Please help me make a great deal... 2009 Infiniti G37 Journey 4dr Sedan P01 Premium Package U01 Navigation Package N93 Trunk Cargo Net Edmunds INVOICE: $36,081 (including destination charge of $865) So if I am turning in my 06' g35 with 3 lease payments left (approx $2,000 left) And the dealer is quoting me $450 in tags + FL sales tax (6.5%)... Where would a good, great, and amazing deal be? I'm probably going to utilize the 36 months at 0% APR. Thanks, JMW

Replying to: psychonut (Sep 15, 2009 7:51 pm) PS- the dealer mentioned a dealer fee which is $895 in FL. I assume this is the commission and some profit. Should I pay all, some, or none of it? Anything else I need to watch out for when they prepare the contract- "well these are standard charges and have nothing to do with the price of the car"? Thanks, J

I am seriously looking at G37x with navi. Will likely used Infiniti Financing -- which, as I understand it, negates the $2500 dealer cash offer. How far below invoice is realistic? (Thank you. This sight already has been very helpful.)
