08 G35 Journey w/ premium by snowden2

I'm thinking about emailing my Infiniti salesman this offer for a 2008 G35 Journey with/ premium:

Start with $31,000 with 0.9% financing (which I think is about $2K below invoice), and see what he comes back with. I'm willing to go up to $32,000, but would be happier somewhere in between. Do y'all think this is a reasonable approach?

Well, I calculated the invoice price on your G37S to be $36,856 and you got it about $600 lower including fees, and you got the 0.9% financing. That is a lot better than what the dealers are offering around here, especially with the 0.9%.

Did they put a window tint or wheel locks for free? I appreciate you sharing the details of your deal. It helps us know how low dealers will actually go.

"..they have probably about 40 G35x sitting on their lot.."

Did you mean about 40 G35's (all G35's including G35x's)? If not that would mean an awful lot of 08 G35 AWD cars sitting on the lot of a single dealership at this time of the year. My NJ local dealership is considered quite big and the last time I checked (11/6/08) there were 6 G35x & 10+ other G35/G37 unsold. Even at that low level of inventory (comparing to your dealership) they were quite eager to sell at invoice.

I am still holding out for two reasons: 1) to find out the details (leasing/buying/test drive) of the 09 Acura TL AWD due to come out around 11/15 and 2) to wait for the price of the G35x to drop further.

I agree that you should not offer a dollar more than $30751 cash for this car as suggested by the previous posting; however, your offer of $30000 appears low. Your dealer might not be ready to take a loss at this time.

try going to autotrader.com look at new cars and dealers only put in your zip and the area in miles to search I know if I search within 50 miles of my house It comes up with almost 400 G35x's Ramsey infiniti in NJ lists 88 cars, competition infiniti on LI one of the biger dealers here lists 144 there seem to be a lot of cars out there.

Agreed, $30,000 flat is too low at this time. I am being patient and waiting until December or January, the dealer by my house has a lot of the G35X's w/ preimum left.

I just checked, yes my dealer has 53 of the 2008 G35x's (not all G35s) available on their lots. Oh well, I think the Infinity even at $31k (for the G35x with Premium) may be just out of my price range, since Acura's offering me an easy $28.5k for the 2008 TL (without Nav).

Now one last choice.... do I get a loaded 2006 BMW 330i or the 2008 TL? choices, choices, choices...

Tanjak....You might wanna check Metro Infiniti in Monrovia, CA. I bought my 2008 G35 Journey with prem/nav package around 31k plus license, tax, etc.. Since I didn't take their finance I also got a 5k discount.

The BMW is clearly the better performer over the TL, but compared to the G the G edges the 330i in acceleration and reliability. Unless you just can't wait I'd hold on until the 09 G37 sedans start trickling in then you'll see G35s at prices in your range, and you'll have the best car of the 3 IMO (Since the 08 G will have a full new car warranty compared to a used 330i). The TL is a decent car, but not in the same performance category as the G & 330i.

Cash price for 2008 base G35? by waynedoggy

According to Edmunds, the invoice for a base G35 is $30,478. With the $4,000 incentive, should I be able to buy one for $26,478 (invoice minus incentive) plus tax?

I found that Edmunds' invoice is high. You probably can get it around 25k include tax, license with a base G35. Cars.com has a Smart Target Price of 29,518 for a base G35, that is a negotiating price. If you provide your own finance or pay cash you might get 5k off the price. If you finance it thru them (dealer) than you don't get the incentive, you cannot get both. Good Luck!
